ESP or Jackson?
I'm trying to decide between the ESP KH-2 Signature Model and the Jackson DKMG. I can cover the higher price of the KH-2, but I'd get the Jackson if it was just as or about as good. I need educated opinions please
Thanks

Well you can get a Jackson with similar specs as the ESP, if you look at the more expensive Jacksons, they come with EMG's (not the HZ's)
okay, most jacksons come with licenced floyds, but you can have the floyd replaced for a orignal like the ESP has, and you'll still save money
I'de rather play the Jackson, because I like their necks better and I'm not a super big fan of ESP guitars.

Can you name any specific Jackson? I would prefer the Jackson, but I want this to be the last guitar I buy for a while, so I want to make sure this thing will be good..
Thanks

Yeah sure, just look at their website and see the USA select series and the Pro series.
www.jacksonguitars.com and go to 'gear'
I like the Dinky/Soloist model myself, the Dinky DK-1 comes with EMG 81/85's and an Original Floyd rose tremolo, I'de prefer that guitar over the ESP, but I'm more a fan of Jacksons.
if you're more into the extreme models check out their V's and kelly's.

Ahhh yeah, that's a nice one. I'll be going with the DK-1, but after looking around the internet for a while, I can't find a place to buy one... Not asking for anybody to go digging but if you can help me with a shop site or something... I'd be grateful..
Thanks AGAIN

The SLSMG is like 910 dollars and it has EMG Hz's which are good,
EMG HZ don't suck at all, because I just put a new Jackson DKMG
on layaway and I have 31 dollars left to pay, The DKMG have an
Active pre-amp in it and I personally like, Its GREAT!

the HZ aren't as good as the 81's, compare them, you'll hear the difference in an instant. the HZ's are passive pickups and the EMG 81's/85's are active ones.
The DKMG series does have an active pre-amp though, but the pickups definetly sound different then the active one's.
I think Bodomchild is looking for higher range Jacksons (with original Floyd etc..) since he's thinking about the ESP KH too, which is more expensive.
ps. I don't think the DKMG are american made, and come with HZ's and licenced floyds, they're made out of basswood.
The USA select dinky has an original floyd, its made out of Alder which has much better tone characteristics, plus the material of the neck is different.
So yeah, the American Select series are a class higher, you pay for it though, but it's worth it, the DKMG's aren't bad at all, but Bodomchild wanted something that could be matched up against a ESP KH so....
I don't know where to find a store near you bodomchild, just look around on google or something, or look at the jackson website under 'resources' and use the dealer locator

The SLSMG is a higher range guitar and it has EMG HZ, but no Floyd rose

I was talking about the DKMG dinky's.
the SLSMG is from the MG series, which is not one of jackson's top lines!
plus, I think he wants something with a Floyd system, considering he wants something that can be compared to an ESP KH.

I have a DKMG, and i've played even better jacksons, and the KH-2. I think the KH-2 is better, but not for its money. The reason its so high priced like that is cause its a kirk hammett model, shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I love ESP's, and i find that some of their guitars tend to be better than jacksons. You just really have to look though.

I just got a Jackson SL-1 American made and Jesus is it nice. It has Seymore Duncan piackups(no shit Duncan Designed here) hum sing sing. The pickups dont have as mcuh bite as EMGs and pinch harmonics don't come as easy as with EMG, but the tone is just amazing. The action is very low and fast. It is like $1200 musician's Friend.

I'm having almost zero luck finding a DK1 and considering an SL1. Should I hold out for a DK1 or just settle for an SL1? DK1 has EMG 81,85 pickups and the SL1 has a Seymour Duncan TB4 JB Humbucker at the bridge and middle and neck are Seymour Duncan Classic Stack Humbucker. This should be the last post before I go off and buy a guitar, heh.. I need educated opinions on this stuff. I've only been playing a couple years
Thanks

u want a fucking educated opinion.....
just to let u know both are really kick ass guitars, but all depends what kind of music u want to play and what kind of sound u are planning to get from the guitar....
