There, now my question is: what tuning do Machine Head play in? I know they tuned down 2 steps to drop B for Burn My Eyes (I have the tab book), but I've heard that for TMTC they also used B. If so, why does it sound lower? Is that because they tuned to a different frequency or something? It mentions 430Hz or something similar in the tab book. I've played guitar for a while, but I haven't a clue about tunings and other technical stuff. Any help in understanding would be appreciated.

its most likely the frequency. the concert pitch tuning is at 440hz. So they were 10 Hz's lower, which is what most likely made it lower.

on burn my eyes, the tunings were drop c and d standard, with that 430Hz setting,
i believe on the rest they started using drop b, althought im not completely sure
