Hey guys ok i got a little bit of a problem, I was given an electric guitar from my brother because he doesnt play anymore, so I decided i want to learn i have a small little practice amp but my guitar is missing one string ill try to draw a little picture -

Ok, i found a few strings in my guitar bag still in little paper packs there JVB ones, but i only have a few choices
.016 PLAIN
.013 PLAIN
.017 PLAIN
I have around 3 of each
Ok i would ask my brother but he doesnt live with me and also I havent been able to contact him & I would goto a music store but the nearest one is around 1hr drive and im not old enough to drive yet :/ So if anyone can help me it would be appreciated, also any tips on how you guys learnt and some begginers songs would be appreciated Thanks guys sorry if my question seemed a bit vague but i tried my best - Nicholas

welcome to the forums dude........you have 0.016, 0.017 & 0.013.......0.013 is the second string.....so you cant use that......from what i have in front of me (a set of galli strings).....both 0.016 & 0.017 can be used for the 3rd string.....better you use the 0.017

Thanks man, now i just gotta tune it Can you recommend some pretty basic songs?

ok heres my problem now, when i try to string it and twist it around the tuning post i cant keep it tight and together it comes out looking fucked i dont really want to waste the strings can you give me any tips?
