Boss GT-6 => anyone getting really heavy distortion?
Hail!
I have a boss gt-6 and a 65w peavey.
Now, if I don't adjust anything on the peavey, how can I get
a really heavy, low, destructing distortion/overdrive?
I get some good ones, but they're still not raw enough for
fast blackmetal...
Anyone has some good settings for this?
Thanks....

Hm, what kinda peavey are you using?
one of my best friends uses a GT-6, I can probably ask him, he has got a fucking kickass distortion (he does use a Gibson and a Marshall TSL100 stack though..)
it might be your amp, I dunno, what distortion settings are you using now?

Well err,
I put every possible knob on 0 on my Peavey (like bass, treble, gain, ...)
so all the distortion comes from the GT6 only.
Now, I don't know my current settings by heart on my GT6, but I play with (modified) patches such as 'Rect Metal', '7 String Lead', ... which give a very nice sound, but it sounds too ... neat and clean, hehe (the 7 string lead does pretty well but gives a huge load of annoying feedback)...

ah yeah I know the effects, the 7 string has good distortion (yeah for downtuned guitars or 7's)
so you want more raw sounds? you can modify all the fx in the GT6 seperatly, right? tried adding more gain and messing around with the eq on the fx?
Maybe try putting the gain of your amp up, our guitarist has his gain at 80% and the rest comes from his fx pedal...
oh, and welcome to the forums man.

The distortion is great, I can replicate the Master Of Puppets dry distortion
effect.
