Solid-state or Tube?

Which do you prefer? I like solid-states more cuz although it doesn't take much effort, I hate changin out tubes, I have a phobia about tubes dieing in the middle of a gig, I just wanna play and most tube amps go into auto-overdrive on clean once you get to the higher volumes... thoughts?

Tube, I love tube distortion... yeah about the tubes braking down, I got that feeling too, but I haven't had problems with it.. so...

The Crate Blue Voodoo has great clean tones at hi volumes. It's really just the older tube model amps that are tough to get a clean tone on. Give some of the Mesa Boogie's a whirl too. One thing you will notice when playing through a tube amp is your sound will have a lot more depth to it. Harmonics will ring out clearer. you will be able to pull off all kinds of leads and solos, and what have you with a cleaner tone. The sound will just be overall a lot richer sounding. Just don't ruin it, and go plug a Metal Zone into it or something.

I have a hybrid Marshall AVTH50. It sounds really good and gives me the tube sound without having to change the tubes often. The AVT series is really good. Marshalls kick ass.
