ac adaptor

i got a new pedal like a week ago (metalzone) .. i have been using this old nintendo adaptor for it (since im too lazy to get a battery) well when i first got it, excited as shit to try it out i really didnt read the directions on it.. well i have now .. and is says.. ONLY use d-boss ac adaptor for any d-boss pedal or it may cuase damage or malfunction to the pedal... is this bull shit? or is it true? should i go buy a brand new ac adaptor or battery?

100% bullshit, they just want you to buy more of their products. A friend of mine uses a danelectro adapter to power his boss pedals, and i used a electroharmonix adapter to power a boss eq pedal.

its bullshit mate
you can use any ac adaptor with the same voltage and polarity

if the polarity is wrong switch the wires

+-(o-- or --(o-+ make sure these are the same

works fine for me

Bullshit yes, but you also need to check the current of each.

if the voltage is higher on the adaptor will it ruin the pedal if the pedal needs less?

well, in the long run, I had my adaptor set at 12v instead of 9v once and it just worked though, I don't think its good for your pedal....

As far as I know, it is not harmful to the pedal to have too high input as long as it's not too high. What I'm trying to say is that if it's going to break, it will break immediately. At least that's what I think.
