hey what the fuck does a compressor (not a supressor) pedal do.. a good friend of mine tells me it makes your distortion sound deeper is this true? and would one work with the metalzone?

It makes it so everything is the same volume no matter how hard the strings are hit. Its mainly used on bass because if you go past like the 12th fret or so on a bass the notes come through alot louder.

yeah, I got the Boss C/S2, compressor sustainer pedal, you can add sustain or compress it, which makes you distortion sound a little more tight because the tone sounds shorter (or how the hell you say it, lol)
