tremolo question

Hi!

When I tremolo pick, my guitar gives a very annoying unwanted noise. This
must be caused by the pick, because it's side rubs to the strings. It's a
problem only on the three thickest strings.
I use an Ibanez GIO GRX70 electric guitar with a BOSS MT-2. I use the bridge
pickup and the settings for the MT-2 are: level: max, low&high&mid&midfreq:
1 o'clock, distortion: 3 o'clock.
I don't use amp, the signal goes straight into my computer from the pedal.
I use a hard pick.

sample: http://volunta.fw.hu/szar.wav

My question: can I do anything to it?
Is there a program to remove this noise? A good noisegate?
Would an amp help this?
Should I change my pedal? (I'm not really satisfied with it.)

I hope it's not a bad thing to use a hard pick. I angle the pick by a
conveninent degree so it's not parallel to the strings.

I ask it because I don't hear this noise even on the worst demo.

Thanks.
ChronIQ

This sound like you're scraping your pick over your strings, so I would suggest you try to make it more of a "hit-and-run" type picking, so you only touch the string for a very short time.

2 Things...

1. You guitar is to low and you arnt picking at the right angel. So tryholding your guitar up higher.

2. Your not picking right. Hold your pick diffrently.

yeah, when you tremolo pick, your scraping the string, just don't scrape it and put the pick my of a striaght angle, instead of diagnol like your prolly doing.

Thanks for your fast replies.

I will try to hold my guitar upper. Actually the pickups were in front of my d*ck.
Right now I'm not able to play my guitar, but should the pick be almost parallel to the strings?

Thanks

Thats why. Your guitar was way to low. I have mine right below my nippels, but thats a little high for some people. Try putting it a few inches below your nippels, but really, whatever feels comfortable and what helps you play more acurate, which it will do. And my hand is parallel.

Right below your nipples?!?! Man that's high... I have mine so the trem is just above the root of my d*ck. I do however hold the guitar at quite a steep angle, like at least 45 degrees, usually more. So that might be why I'm comfortable with the guitar so low.

i change mine to whatever music i'm playing, easier to jump playing hardcore stuff when its higher. a little below my nipples is where i have it sometimes also. But for the more metal stuff, i have it at my belly button/waist line area. never too low.
