I need help
i found this on some Suffocation tabs:
Rhythm Guitar Transcribed on Bass
Tuning* (Low - High): Db Gb B E
I don't know what it means. is this for bass? cus there are only 4 linesin the tab:

it is probably for bass then i haev heard of 4 string guitars but for this kind of music i doubt somone would use it

They also do that when only the first 4 strings are used, sometimes 3. Look at some nile tabs, they do it alot there too.

they use palm mute on bass????
....when there are parts of the songs wich it is tabbed for 2 guitars! (guitar 1 and guitar 2)
Does this means that Suffocation used thw basses?! ....i don't think so.

I only made the assumption (sp)that it was for bass because of the tuning, and I rarely ever see 4 stringed guitars... But like some mentioned earlier, they could just be showing the last four strings of a guitar because that's all that's used.

well it says rhythm guitar TRANSCRIBED ON BASS, which i think means that it was originally played as a guitar riff, but the transcriber made it for bass (probably becuase he plays bass). but since the 4 lower strings on a guitar match the ones on the bass, it works out. He's playing on the Db string, so it would go
F#F#F#-FFF-G-G#-F#F#F#-FFF-F#-G#-F#F#F#-FFF-G-G#-F#-G-F-F#
OR
222-111-3-4-222-111-2-4-222-111-3-4-2-3-1-2-| on the low E string of the guitar.

Jesus, im pretty sure they did that to save some time (4 lines instead of 6), its the same for guitar so why not play it?
