Personally, I can't get enough grind, I love it. And I'm not just talking about the very very overrated Pig Destroyer(who are good) and the total piece of shit Agoraphobic Nosebleed. I'm talking Unholy Grave, Cripple Bastards, Pungent Stench, Regurgitate, Lord Gore, Nasum and all so much more. So what does everyone think of grind, gore grind, porn grind, ect. ect. ect.?

How can you say that about Daughters? That stuff is so excellently written an executed. Their live stuff sounds like ass but what live grindcore sounds good on CD? It's funny I saw this post cuz I'm wearing my Nasum shirt right now. Other bands to check out that weren't listed are Benumb, Neil Perry, and The Locust. Most original fucking band I've heard in a while, since they really have a sound all their own. Love em or hate em, no one else uses keyboards like they do in grindcore.

i dunno...just something about daughters that bothers me a lot. perry is okay, kind of a mod band. benumb is cool. i dont know much about the locust except two of the guys are in cattle decapitation. some more really good grind though is bodies in the gears of the apparatus and deadwater drowning. deadwater is really more hardcore than grind but they have some grind elements. their singer nate has one of the best vocal ranges ive heard and the drummer does some really different stuff

haha, dude I thought I was the only person into Bodies In The Gears Of The Apparatus around here...I talked to one of the guys from the band online and he sent me their 4 song MCD free in the mail. Rad group of guys, also highly recommended by me.

Yeah Scrawl has been around for a really long time actually. I don't like jazzgrind at all but check out the relapse.com forum, they talk about that and the 870975097 diffrent grind genres alot. Its a good place to find out about bands.

Anal Cunt is really noise-grind. I love listening to the real early stuff. It makes people very mad...

Anal Cunt is more of a novelty than anything else...they have some good songs like branscombe richmond but the best part about them is their song titles...and seeing seth all drugged up onstage hahaha. hes a cool guy though. they've been playing a lot of reunion shows around boston lately and he was nice enough to sneak my friend into the 21+ club they were playing in.

ya gotta love a good bit of grind. I can't wait for the new Nasum!!

It is pretty clear you know nothing about grind. Listen to Carcass, then listen to say a band like Anal Cunt and tell me they should be considered the same. Or just listen t teh differences between like Fuck...I'm Dead and Birdflesh. Chances are you have only heard one grind band and now you think you haerd them all. You need subgenres because there is a huge difference betweren punk influenced Crust and Carcass worship.

Maybe we should have Black Metal subgenres. Yeah there is no difference between Dimmu Borgir and Mayhem.

Why even have subgenres in metal? No difference between Black Sabbath and Immolation.

Why have subgenres in music? There is no difference between The Dixie Chicks and Burzum.

Why catagorize anything? Why have titles like 'teacher' and 'student'?

My point is that there are reasons for subgenres. Some people like certian subgenres. Some only like Carcass worship, some just noise. Some are gore fans. Catagorizing bands to such lengths helps the listener get rid of the guess work in finding good bands. And since getting music from underground grind bands may mean sending money away for split 7's. And if thebands just describe themselves as "Grindcore from NY." it leaves quite a bit unanswered.

Point taken i suppose. yeah, its not my style so i shouldnt be talking, but when i hear the term grindcore i think of fuck i'm dead, six feet under, zimmers hole and the likes. Who knows, maybe they sound completely different to somebody who really likes the stuff. I never would have considered carcass to be grind, although i'm more familiar with their newer stuff. And yeah, i have no probs with labels, i just had a really narrow concept of grindcore to begin with.

Fornever you are pretty much right. Some of these subgenres get alittle our of hand. I dont think lyrics should determine the genre really. My favorite is Mongolian Battlecruiser grind. And you all forgot Hydro Grind!!

Six Feet Under is death metal. Carcass invented grind with the first two albums and perfected Death/Grind with Necrotiscism. You can define a genre with just lyrics. Porn grind. They have their albums covered with porn pictures and intros with porn clips and lyrics about sex. I think this is the only case where you can do it though.

Haemorrhage are great and its the first spanish grind band that i come across... Um you guys should listen to gronibard , french porn grind
