I was putting new strings on my schecter and noticed that the tuning keys were slightly loose. They pivot just a hair. Should I tighten them down or is a little slack good for them?

Tighten them, but not to much. It really depends on the wood. If its a newer guitar then I would say its ok, but older could effect the wood.

It's pretty damn new. Igot it about four weeks ago. It has that real glossy type of finish. I tell ya gloss black picks up every damn fingerprint and every single piece of lint in the air. It's a Schecter C-1 EX with Grover tuners if that helps any. Thanks for the info dude

mine sorta did that on the high E string it just wont tune the string so i gotta replace it or summtin and my pickups go out evernow and then becuase they screwed the electronics up on it so i gotta get that fixed to good thing it has warenty on it becuase i got it last christmas its pretty new

Then I would say tighten it. Make sure you dont have any strings on at the time though.

anybody kno how to fix my tuner key??
while tuneing the high string I got it to like Eb or summtin then it just went down to C and now it wont tune the string. did it break, do I have to tighting it and if i do how?? im bringing to the guitar tech tommoro to work on my pickups but id just see if anyone else had problems like this lata

no you dont need to tighten it
i think your string is slipping around the peg
put on a new string and leave about 2 or 3 winds around the peg before tuning it
