Buying an amp
I found two amps in a store and i am thinking in buying one of them. They are both around the same price (320 Euros)
I don't know if i should buy one or look for another. People have already gave me some advices here on this forum about amps but most amps are simple not avaible. I would be very grateful if you people help me out.
the amps:
Peavey Envoy 110
Roland Cube 30

it looks shitty?!!
....well but it sounds great! It has a really nice clean sound. It has a bunch of effects which is kind of a turn off to me.
I heard that Peavey are great. So, I don't know which of this two to buy.
Despite the Roland having a lot of effects i trust in my Boss Metalzone to make the distortion, so i'm not gonna buy an amp just because of the effects.
Anyways... if you people have suggestions, please give them.... i just doubt that i will find those amps

Dude, you just suck at guitar, or your guitar sucks the big one.
I've played that amp too and it was just fine, but I'de go for a Peavey Bandit 112! just save a bit more.....
or just save up heaps more and buy a Peavey XXX/XXL series!
peaveys have a neat metal tone, and roland doesn't make really good guitar amps if you ask me...

Peavey's not bad, but I'd say go for the metalzone + roland setup.

i got a peavy bandit 112 and i like it. its a good amp till i can get a better one but save up some more dude i went from a 30 watt to a 100 wat and its a big difference i will never go back to that small lol. but if u really want a new one go with the roland with the effects to play around on and use the metalzone for dist. either way i say just save up for someting better. and def yes the XXX is awesome i love it and want one lol

It depends on what your looking for, this is a metal site, so people arent going to think a roland is bad ass cuz the distortion is shitty. But the clean sound of the roland JC amps are top of the line. They have the best clean sound ive ever heard and their chorus is the best in the bussiness if you enjoy chorus. The thing about the roland is that it does have a great clean sound which means, your metal zone will sound exactly how a metalzone should sound. I say get the Roland, and maybe try and get the jc-120 or jc90.

Ah well, I don't think anything can beat a nice tube clean sound :P
even a mesa boogie nomad sounds amazing, and thats only a combo, the triple rectifiers and stuff are the shit.. okay, they cost half a car, but well, then you've got a fucking good amp.
I don't know about the roland, I played thru one of those cubes which sounded like poo, the clean was good but not special but yes the distortion was really bad.
I haven't played this amp here though, this is a different one, COSM effects are nice, same system as the boss GT series.
The Peaveys I do know a bit better, I played a bandit, which was pretty good especially if you consider the price...
If you look at user reviews on internet you'll see that the Peaveys get really good ratings, I guess they just make good and solid amps, the sound might not be as good as a Marshall TSL100 or a Mesa, but they do make pretty good amps.
anyways, I'de save up more money and wait for another amp, the peavey is only 40 watt with a 10'' speaker.
The Roland is only 30... 10'' speaker too...
ofcourse it depends where you use it, if you want to rehearse with a full band I'de suggest a peavey bandit 112 or 212.
Ok, I'm done

I've browsed the web for the JC models and found some reviews.
never saw that amp before, the only Rolands I've seen in music stores here are the Cube's and their multifunctional stuff....
the reviews on the JC's do sound really promising, but I don't know shit about that amp... Still, I would save up more money for a stack but it just depends what you're using the amp for.
And if you gotta choose between two amps, there's only one way of finding out which is better.... playing thru the fuckers.
