We cant really recommend any guitars because of the fact that if your buying second hand, you cant rely on a particular brand or model actually being there. But i will recommend this, most pawn shops around my area are still more expensive then guitar center. If you have a GC nearby you can look at their used gear and maybe talk them down a bit on it. If your on a Budget you can probably get a used or possibly even new low model Ibanez. It would be a good first electric.

look for these things:

1) does it work? plug it in and try every pickup combination
2) is it comfortable?
3) does it look good?
4) is it damaged?
5) is it hard to play? (this is important, since you have already played for a while, it shouldnt be hard at all, but if it is hard, the it must be a bad guitar)

if it has chips on it, thats fine, That one dude from Iron Maiden
has jacked up guitars but at least the guitars sound fine.
Look for a guitar that actually works, that all! Once you're done wit that
guitar, smash it like a rock star
