What is your dream setup?
If you could have any guitars, any amps, any effects, what would they be? You can have 10 items, GO.

What's wrong with that? The UVMC is a 7-string, and has a superior bridge. On top of that, it's got a much higher resale value.
The Framus is an awesome axe, it's just not the first axe that comes to mind.

1. Jackson KE-3
2. Boss GT-6
3. Some good speaker (no need for an amp)
Reasons for the above choices:
1. Nice guitar, less risk of getting it stolen than if I had a KE-2
2. Contains pretty much all effects I need, and is pretty cheap
3. Well, doesn't need an explanation, does it?

The Framus just seems so much classier then an Ibanez. And the Ibanez, isnt that the model korn used to play before they got their customs?

Yeah, it does kind of have that high-end appeal... I'm not sure what model Korn was using prior to their customs. I would imagine a Universe model of some sort (I couldn't really see them with MC's....) due to their Vai influence and the fact that the UV was one of Steve's sig guitars...

1. Custom analog effects package with real-time digital sequencing control via USB or TCP/IP.
2. 12,000 watt six channel water-cooled tube amp using military radar Traveling Wave Tubes.
3. Six 4,000 watt cabinet stacks arranged for six channel surround sound in my own private venue.
4. My Jackson is fine, but I'd like the neck to be wider so the top and bottom strings don't slide off the edge when I do a wide vibrato or reckless tapping/bending.
Nobody makes any of this shit so I'm screwed until I do it myself...

In no particular order:
Beat up vintage Gibson SG,
'80s Ibanez Artist (has to be white )
B.C. Rich U.S. Iron Bird
Ampeg VH-140c head w/matching cab,
Hot Rodded Marshall JCM 800 w/matching cab,
Basically any combo of the above amps/guitars I'd be happy with, probably getting a VH-140c soon anyway so my poweramp can be used for my PA, since they're cheap and I like the sound (Think Dying Fetus).
The Marshall would be nice, someday. The vintage SG will definitely happen, I have an old '60s SG bass that I want the twin to. The Ibanez and B.C. Rich I just happen to like for some odd reason.

hmm I'd have to say amp wise
either two fireballs for clean and rhythm, or a powerball(two graphic EQ's for the rhtyhm and lead) for both an SLO-100 for a lead, actually my own custom amp built for me would be great, a good not sharp clean more smooth than fender, a nice high gain rythm ie Savage beast, and an SLO style lead channel, this would be my perfect amp.
Guitars
Ran RR CTM (ordered, and being built)
Ran Mirage Custom similar to the RR but different.
Ran EXP Snow white 22 frets Ebony board mahog body and neck set neck, Iron Cross inlays, TOM bridge.
Ran Invader, similar to the EXP but KV shape also for rhythm
Ran RR or Invader in silver with Iommi crosses.
Ran Vision, wiht a maple baord mahognay body, 24 frets abalone dots or side dots, locking tuners schaller hard tail bridge.(for tunings like E-D, and drop C)

Here's a Japanese brand of Jacksons that I've had my eye on for a while. I'm looking to buy the RR-J2 maybe when I get the money, but I'm not sure. They have just about every model. Probably not good build quality compared to the USA series, but for the price, they seem nice. Click on the pics and another page will pop up, click on the little tabs that say "photo 1, photo 2, etc."

I am sorry. I did not know I had to be specific.
Gibson Les Paul Custom, black or sunburst w/three pickups, (not that I use three pickups, just looks cooler). Gibson USA pickups are cool, but I'd probably swap 'em for Duncans.
Marshall JSM 100 Head Tube and a 4x12 slant cab w/custom voiced Cellestion speakers.
Probably would put a Metal Zone in front of the amp, I don't really know how it sounds combined w/a tube amp, kicks ass with solidstate.
The Epiphone Explorer would be a welcome edition to the setup. I love that guitar. I'd take it just the way it is off the shelf, wouldn't do a damn thing to it, just play it, it sounds and plays great. Almost bought one of those, but opted out for a ESP EX-102 Esplorer. Duncan Designed pickups (kick ungodly ammounts of ass), and $100 less than the Epiphone. Plus it was in much better shape and much newer than the Epis they had at the store. Still plan on buying one of those Epis eventually.

They are about as much as a new RR5 ($900 - $1000). They are very well made guitars, about the same build quality as the RR5. Also, you have to get them through ishibashi music if you live in the US.

Like I said, maybe. I'd have to hear how it sounds to make a call on it. Tube amps do have sweet distortion, though, so it probably wouldn't be necessary.

I'd want:
ESP/Ibanez/Jackson (H-S-H, 24 Fret, Neck-through, EMG 81's, Orig. Floyd Rose)
Marshall MF350 or Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier Full Stack

#1 What the fuck is a JSM!?
#2 Duncan Designed pickups are SHIT. This is not opinion, it is simply fact, they are cheap knock offs of Duncans.
#3 I'm assuming you ment JCM and there is no such thing as a JCM100. JCM 800, 900, and 2000 but no 100. And what the fuck is a head tube? Sure an All-Tube Head not a "head tube". But yes as we all know putting a Metal Zone infrot of a all tube head is an amazing idea.
#4 If you knew anything about guitars you would know that as wood ages, it gets denser, and there for allows more sustain and better tonal properties.
#5 This is dream setup who in fuck would ever pick an Epiphone if they had a choice of ANYTHING?
#6 Not only do 3 humbuckers look stupid, but you would get it solely for looks.
#7 "4x12 slant cab w/custom voiced Cellestion speakers." if that wasnt copies and pasted from Musician'sFriend I don't know what is.
I may have terrible spelling and grammer, but to quote xdx(i thinkit was him): "I've forgotten more about gear than you will ever know."
Now shut the fuck up.

Yeah I was referring to the JCM. And by the way, it's a DREAM setup, so guess what, I just dreamed up a fucking Marshall JSM 100. Bite me.
Also, like I previously said, ASSHOLE, I've never put a metal zone in front of a all tube amp, therefore I would not konw what the hell it sounds like. And if I liked the sound, and you didn't, suck my cock, I don't give a shit. As for your "head tube" argument, read the whole god damn sentence, not just a couple of words and try to form an "opinnion". To save you the trouble, let me repeat it for you. (this time with proper amp model).
A JCM head tube amp. Key words here are "TUBE AMP". Get it now? Now it may not have been the greatest thing I ever wrote, but there was no mention of a "head tube" alone. Maybe if you had a tube in your head, to hold and compact all that goddamn vacuum you got going on in there, I wouldn't have to spell everything out for you.
Next point, the three pickup guitar. I think it looks cool, you think it looks stupid. It's my dream setup, so guess who wins? Me, bitch, ME. Like I said, three pickups just for looks. I don't need the middle pickup. Ace Freehley only used the pickup in the bridge position. The other two weren't even wired. The main reason why someone picks up a certain guitar in the first place is because they think it looks cool. I saw a guitar at the store that had a wooden triangle for a body. Nothing fancy, just a regular triangle. That thing can have all the sustain it wants, my Explorer looks ten times better, and I'm verry happy with the way it sounds. Which leads me to your next point; the Duncan Designed pickups.
From my experience, I can only say great things about them. Combined with my current setup, they give me great sound. I love 'em. They sound much better than the stock BC Rich pickups I got on my Warlock. I am sorry you don't feel the same way. Wait a minute, no I'm not. I don't even fucking care!!!
You say you've forgotten more about guitars than I will ever know. Considering that I've been playing guitars and learning about them for less than a year, that's a lot. Speaks volumes about your mental capacity doesn't it asshole? That tube don't sound like such a bad idea now, does it?
Also, it's "grammar".

I like the Epiphone. I played it, it played great. It had great tone, sustain, you name it, and it looks better than the Gibson. The only reason I picked the ESP over it is because it cost less.
I have already answered your buddy's argument, and I don't want to go back to it, so I'll make this point here instead. No disrespect to you.
He was curious why I picked a newer guitar over an older one because with age wood builds sustain resulting in better tone.
First of all, I cannot be sure that the Epiphone was older than the ESP in the first place. I know it's been on display longer, but that's about it. Even if it were, the difference in age is so small the sustain improvement is pretty much insignificant. Also, since I have to spell everything out for this moron, the Epiphone guitar had pick scratches all over the body, and there were paint chips both on the body and on the tuners. While I could have had the store order me a new one from the factory, I choose not to. I am an impulse shopper and I wanted a guitar there and then. If I didn't get it that same night, I would've blown the cash on something else. Plus, like I said, the ESP was cheaper, and also it rivaled the performance of the Epiphone.
I think this argument can now safely be put to rest. I don't even know why the idiot wasted my time in the first place.
