Favorite Obituary song
My favorite song from Obituary has always been Feed on the Weak off of
their CD back from the dead, I was just wondering what songs other people
liked. Can someone tell me how Obituary sounded like before their album
The End Complete? I've never heard their stuff before that.

I like the song 'Killing time' the slow riffs at the start of it are cool.
Its off the album 'The end complete'

Personally, I find the first 2 Obituary albums to be the worst. Some people actually believe that John didn't write lyrics to the first album. They say that all the vocals are just growls, screams and gutteral sounds. However, that is very much so not true, but it gives you an idea of the sound.
The only song off the first album that I really enjoy is the title track, "Slowly We Rot".
"Cause of Death", the 2nd album, is a lot better. While John's vocals are more understandable, I believe that they are the most inhuman on this one.
"World Demise" and "Back From the Dead" are the best by far. BFTD is more hardcore in many areas.
It's a shame they broke up when they were getting so good. Plus, Roadrunner Records is almost a major label at this point, so they could have really gone far.
What is also dumb is how Trevor and Allen are in these bands that are just like a shittier version of Obituary.
If Iron Maiden was able to replace Bruce, then Obituary could have replaced John.
BTW- my favorite songs are Threatening Skies, Don't Care, Lockdown and Solid State.

I like Slowly We Rot's raw power, but it's not their best by any means. World Demise, and The End Complete are the best in my opinion.

That's completely true, they were really getting better. Why did they break
up? What did you think about the song Bullituary off of Back from the dead?

They broke up cuz John (vocalist) had met a girl who whipped him completely. She didn't want John to tour, so he didn't. What a wuss.
Bullituary was pretty fucking retarded. It was just the song "By The Light" except with two numbnuts giving shitty rap interludes.

It started at the same time when "The End Complete" was released. Already, John said he wouldn't be able to make many of the tour dates.
On the BFTD tour, John wasn't there for many shows. The singer from Pyrexia took his place.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
John T. - Currently in the software business and still whipped to this day.
Trevor - Founded Catastrophic with most of the old Pyrexia members.
Frank - Stockbroker. That sounds like just as much fun as playing in Obituary.
Allen - Plays with Lowbrow a.k.a. Obituary That Sucks
Donald T. - Drums for the extremely shitty Andrew WK.

Who cares who's fault it is? Obituary disbanding was probably the best thing for them at that point, there's only so far you can take Obituary's music.

Unfortunatly, most bands are like that. After 3 - 4 albums its just repeating. I found out Obituary from Airheads

I gotta disagree. Obituary was really evolving. Every album got better and better with different ideas coming in. World Demise made more use of sampling, and BFTD continued good trends by having more organized songs. Some newer songs may seem more anthematic (sp?) but it was always for the better.
Deicide should have disbanded about halfway between their first album. They are a stagnant band.
