Understood man, glad I came in married. Hows SF? I'm currently in Air Assault school, heading to NTC for two months, and then hopefully picking up a ranger slot. I can't go SF man, I talked to one of the guys his exact reply was "50% of us are single, 50% of us are divorced". I actually love my wife, can't do that brother. However going to a ranger battalion I'm willing to do, but being a gun buddy they want let me.

Just dropped a green to gold packet to man, Hopefully I get picked up I can make my way to a ranger battalion, If I don't Ft. Bragg, Ft. Stewart, or Ft. Carson are my next top three picks. Maybe I'll see you around Ft. Bragg if I get it.

I was a non-select at the end of sfas. So now I'm at a line unit in the 82nd as Infantry, and I absolutely hate it. I tried to push for Batt during my out-processing from SF, but didn't really get any say in where I got assigned to. My new long term goal is to go Warrant. A year and a half of busting my ass and freezing for no progress or reward other than "you tried" kind of killed my motivation to do anything too hooah.

But hey, while we still have this little freak show up and running, I wanna share just a fun little tidbit. This summer I took part in writing and performing a renaissance music/commedia dell arte show and from that resulted a new group of twelve which will keep developing this concept. I've already half finished the script for next summer's show. Anyhows, in this group we have three girls ages eleven to thirteen, and after the last show was done one of 'em asked if they could try my electric guitar (we did one song with a bit of metal mixed in). So I showed them the power chord and demonstrated a bit with the intro to Holy Diver, Kickstart my heart and a few others... and you could just see the light flick on in their young eyes. We've been holding regular sessions with a few people from the group all summer and I've had the girls practice the intro to Smoke on the water, which they nail like they had uranium instead of iron in their blood. It's so damn fun, almost right from when I first met 'em I had one of them pegged as a born bassist and one as a bone fide diva lead guitarist and they've just kept providing me with confirmation on that. Really looking forward to see what will become of them.

I think I've allowed FB to drive me away from forums, writing stuff, and real life, but I've actually been busy (for me) lately. Stuff going on at church, doing stuff around the house, and this week I'm singing and doing a skit at a local nursing home. I'm also taking theory lessons. Holy crap! That's mind-boggling. Some makes sense, but some is way out there. I'm also doing a few duets and solos here and there. I'm still doing voice lessons, too. If you guys ever have any trouble with sore throats, swollen glands, or shortness of breath, get with a vocal coach and learn some technique for posture. I'm still not singing like I used to, but it's made a big difference.

Oh yeah, Paddy's still in Ireland. lol
