I was pulling out of the parking lot with the DMV dude and had turned my wheel way too much and hit the gas too hard and ended up almost shooting up onto the curb and then swerving away into oncoming traffic. He just yelled "Stop! Stop! You've failed!". I was like, 15 though .

I'm 22 but I went to boarding school all throughout high school and they didn't offer a driving course there. Then I moved to NYC for college so I didn't need a car, and just put it off. It is easy, and I did the course 5 times flawlessly until the instructor got in the car. On top of being totally wired on coffee, the chick just made me real fuckin nervous. In the parallel parking section there's a pot hole right before a gently sloping curb. So normally, you feel the pot hole, there's a slight resistance but you keep turning into the spot. I usually slope one mirror downward on the opposite side so I can see where the curb is and don't make this mistake. My mirror wasn't down enough so when I felt that resistance I thought it was the pot hole. It was the goddamned curb. I've practiced going into that spot 15 times and never once hit a cone or a curb.... except on test day. Because they are "backed up", I have to wait 6 weeks to retake the test. Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed out. I was so stoked and sure that I'd pass.

Wow, that is very comforting to hear. Any time I'm outside the city and it's discovered I can't drive I get shot an odd look. I was worried about waiting too long because I hear it becomes harder the older you get. My grandmother and great grandmother never learned to drive and my mom is afraid of driving so I was pretty determined to not let that happen to me.

Dame, my son's reasoning was about the same as mine. Fear. But for us it's been okay. Knock on wood that neither of us has been in serious accidents. I have a hard time driving on freeways though. License was cheap. Plates are about $45 and last a year for a car. Trucks are more. I know different states have different ways of doing them. In Arizona they used to go by the year of your car. The newer it was the more you paid. I don't remember how long they lasted though.

Yeah, it all depends on how long the article is, too. It's fun though and a bit of a challenge. I've written music reviews, recipes, travel, blog entries, and all sorts of stuff. I think what your wife had was a direct order. It's nice when a client approaches you to do a piece for them. My son is bipolar and doesn't like interacting with too many people and he's always loved writing and books so this is a perfect outlet for him and he makes money, too.

Any of you guys and girls that want some extra income that's absolutely not a scam, it might be something for you to look into. You all write as well or better than I do so I don't think you'd have any trouble getting hired. There's no set hours or topics except word counts and the time the client asks the article to be done by. The only thing I don't write is stuff I wouldn't be comfortable writing or feel like it would be against my own ideas, or something that I might want my name on.

That night was intense I can only tell haha but I'm still waiting for all pictures and videos so I can see what exactly happened that night, my bro only made a few.
