Don't really care for the vocals. Instruments are fucking nasty tho. Technical enough to be groovy but not overly technical.

Yeah I'm excited for it to. I just read that the lead guitarist was diagnosed with focal dystonia and has to sit out.

Lot of great releases coming out in the next few months: Meshuggah, Converge, SoP, Goatwhore oh my!

The guitarist you are referring to is Christian Muenzner (formly of Necrophagist, current Obscura) and he's only sitting out because the tour has both SoP and Obscura(SoP playing a 45 minute set and Obscura a 70+) So rather then try to push playing in two bands he decided to go with his main focus and give the best show he could. He said that somewhere haha

Spawn of Possession - The Evangelist

Nearly 10 minutes of them doing what they do best. They're really making sure you get your moneys worth with this one..

Its pretty good. I don't think top the catchiness of Cabinet, but its a solid record.

Listened to it multiple times and I still really like it.. There are some moments where all the shit that's going on sounds too similar and hits dull moments, but overall it's one of my favorite releases, ever.

Love the album, pre-ordered from Relapse and actually got it a week early. Worth the wait, as was Cryptopsy

... many months later

Turns out 'sounding too similar' was a pretty big flaw.. The Evangelist and Apparition still get regular play, but I skip the other tracks for the most part.

Myeaaah, Where Angels Go and The Evangelists are bitching but the rest... Still though I'm normally not into this flashy supermelodicsolo deathmetal (only band I dig HARD gay are Decrepit Birth), so those tracks alone are a big feat to me.
