And I'm feeling all vestiges of self worth draining out of my miserable carcass, as insight of the full extent of the missed opportunities flare in my mind. We all gotta do our part.

Sometime we should have a psychiatrist come here, just to see how long it takes before he/she becomes the mental equivalent of a pile of mush with a white flag on a pole in it.

Listening to the newest Darkest Hour album...pretty damn good! I'd write a review but I'm lazy and SHOULD go to bed soon.
What the hell?? One post every 120 seconds?? Ouch.

Sort of related, but did anyone else hate E.T as a kid? I couldn't find a reason in my mind why anyone would want to help something that looked like a walking chunk of fecal matter.

During your absence we had quite a problem with spam bots. A lot of people left or became less active, which is why the forum is so slow these days. I remember Mansley and I manually clearing over 20 PAGES worth of members out one at a time. That was fun. I can only imagine how much work the more active mods had to do around that same time period.
Other than the Black Metal Wars, these were surely the darkest days of mt/f.

I hated E.T. as a kid, but really because it made me bawl like a fucking kid watching his parents die. Seriously, I would cry hysterically until I was carried out of the room and even still, I would hold onto whatever was near me to resist. I watched it recently, maybe 4 years ago and it was cool, but damn, I have tormented memories that even a severe rape victim doesn't have.

I have yet to see it in its entirety. I still haven't seen all the Star Wars, Star Trek, Titanic, Twilight, Lord of the Rings, dada dada whatever movies. I dunno. Maybe when I'm old and grey. Wait. Nevermind.
I've been to the nursing home quite a few times for about a year now and for some reason it really hit me yesterday. Funny thing about it was after we left my hubby was saying just about the same things I was thinking. There was a sweet old lady, probably in her 90's, that came in to where we were visiting and picked up a stuffed bunny rabbit to cuddle with. She was also picked up a lock of my hair so I asked her if she had long hair. She said when she was a younger she did. She had a cut on her forehead so she must have fallen at some time. It's really a trip to think that could be me eventually.
And the thread title had no threats, Dylsbury.

Well look at you with your obscure thread title references. It doesn't count, though, because it's not a film title (though there is a film about Pistol Pete whose title would count).

Maybe I made a film about him, and it's in my basement. Maravich, that is. I was thinking I might have used that when I made a new RTT in the past, but I don't remember.

Pistol Pete died fairly publicly almost 25 years ago, so I seriously doubt he's in your basement. Though I can only hope that he is, and that the proper authorities have been alerted through this messageboard.

However you managed to tie in concepts like "authority" or "proper" in the context of this place is beyond me.

I always thought he was cute when I was in school so I'd watch the basketball games when he was playing. The only other sports references you might see from me involve Secretariat, Man O' War (his great grand-daughter, Cherry, used to room with my horse), and Eddie Arcaro.
I'm scribbling off a letter across the pond to see what's up with Padanarum. HIs area can be a bit volatile at times, but I'm hoping one of the stray cats around there just chewed the wires connected to his computer, and he's offline from that. He better not have gotten raptured and I didn't!!! haha
mumbles -goldurn kids that aren't even mine makin' me worry.

Pfff, I realized it was a Cobain quote so much longer before you did.
During a hangover does anyone else get an uncontrollable urge to douse yourself in cold water? Swimming, cool shower, etc. but especially the ocean.

Sort of. Whenever I have diahrea/food poisoning type sickness I always wash my face with cold water way more than necessary. For some reason I haven't had a really bad hangover in a long time, despite drinking every weekend.

Speaking of. I got an email from Paddy. He was kidnapped by midgets and escaped, but he missed them so much he is going to live with them for awhile longer. He'll be back eventually, but there's some stuff he's taking care of before he returns. That's a relief, and saved me postage, too.

You are the reason you are so old.
Do you mean 'What the fuck happened to Paddy to make him such an execrable excuse for a human being, even by the admittedly lowered standards of the Ginger Irish?', or 'What the fuck happened to Paddy to keep him from lowering the general level of green screen discourse with his Ginger inanity?'? Because, while I don't even have a guess for the answer to the first, except that it must have been terrible, for the second I'd hazard that his occasional internet problems, which have kept him away for a month or so at a time in the past, have to do with it.

We should start a telethon to get Paddy his internet. I think Gomli should host and LB should be barred from the premises.
This is for Chris. You suck, and your whole field of study sucks.

That's the spirit! I'll picket it since I'll be barred, and in turn that will draw more crowd, creating more funding. Brilliant idea!

Repeatedly molested by clowns is my guess. Both as a child and an adult, of course. Why he keeps inviting them over is anyone's guess.

That don't even make no sense, nigga! FIRST OF ALL CAPS, BIRDS ARE REPTILES, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, NIGGA! Lizards and snakes didn't evolve from no winged ancestors, son! Why niggas gotta hate? Mark ass tricks running their mouths, birds be chirping they bullshit, but that's all it is. That's for real, son. That shit's for real.
The scientific community has known that birds are rooted within the Reptilia for at least 50 years now (you could even argue since the discovery of Archaeopteryx 150 years ago). As far as I've been able to tell, it's strictly for historic reasons that birds retain their own separate field of study and that turtles, lepidosaurs, and non-avian archosaurs (crocodilians), and the distantly related amphibians are all dumped into one giant field of study. "Herpetology", as I see it, was just a way for pioneering biologists to dump all the gross, scary, icky, and green advanced vertebrates into one field where most of them could be ignored by everyone except weirdos.
More properly, the so-called "class" Aves might more properly be demoted to an order and paired up in cladograms of the extant Reptilia with the order Crocodilia. In fact, all modern cladograms and phylogenetic trees DO pair up Aves with Crocodilia, but still refer to Aves as a class.
You shouldn't have posted that comic if you didn't want this wall of text to follow, nigga.

You forgot Gamera. He doesn't have feathers, but can fly, and he has 4 legs, too.

I can't tell if you'll be offended but I hear a mild Opeth-ness in there. But coming from me that is a compliment. I want a good recording of that song! GIVE IT TO ME.
If you ever come to Cali immediately get in touch with me if you want to play a show with some local LA metal bands.

You call that a wall of text? Man, back in the day, that's be like the briefest message you'd ever get out of me. If Paddy were here, he'd spend more time describing his morning stool than you did delineating the historical accident that is herpetology, and use more 'niggas.' Fortunately, Ginger is not here.
You still like Nirvana because Nirvana is awesome. You're struggling with the cognitive dissonance of liking them because your current standards of good music have more to do with easily qualitative aspects of a band than something like 'awesome,' and since Nirvana doesn't meet those standards you can't understand why they're so good, and have to ascribe it to nostalgia. But it isn't. Sheer nostalgia won't do it; there has to be something there. And that something is awesome.

I really think herpetology has the most unfortunate sounding/looking name. Fits Chris, though.
I still like Nirvana. Not as much as Alice in Chains, but I like 'em.

Actually, I liked (and still like) all the prominent grunge bands of the era, of which I'd probably consider Nirvana my least favorite. Soundgarden and AIC rotate heavily in a lot of my playlists, while STP and Nirvana get about equal amounts of love as each other, but less than the two former bands. Less significant bands of the era and a few post-grunge bands (i.e. Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, Bush, Silverchair, Foo Fighters, Toadies) get occasional play, as well.
As far as the lack of wall in that wall of text, totally my fault, Rich. It's been too long since people had real conversations and/or flame wars on here; indeed, too long since I've talked to anyone on a forum who had the reading comprehension and attention span to actually READ a real wall of text for me to even remember what one looks like, anymore. It's a sorry state of affairs, I'm afraid.

Gotta say that when we went to C-town the other day we tuned into a grunge and alt rock station that plays older stuff and it sounded dang good. I'd forgotten just how good. It's a bitch it doesn't come in better at home.

Apparently T.H. Huxley and O.C. Marsh were both pushing the dinosaur ---> bird theory in the 1870's. Huxley was the first to publish the theory, but Marsh had significantly more clout in academia, paleontology, and the scientific community at large. Both were huge personalities who were often controversial, but both are now generally accepted as having been brilliant pioneers in the fields of comparative anatomy, biology, and evolution.

I think breathing all that California smog does something to some people's brains. They shrink. Glad I got out of there. I always liked Charlie Sheen, but like with lots of people, add alcohol and drugs to get instant assh*le. Maybe they'll give him and few of the other Hollywood crazies there own show.

Well, yeah, that might have something to do with it. I noticed years ago on his show that his eyes looked really stary and buggy like he was tooting something. I guess I called it right.
Lemme see your eyes Joe'.

Everyone complaining about Sheen are a bunch of fucking pussies.
There are only two people who give a shit about Charlie Sheen right now; a. people who have taken advantage of another celebrity on a purported "collapse" phase to get up on their high horses and hypocritically judge that celebrity by a set a morals he/she doesn't even fucking live by and, b. people who are simply jealous because of the way he/she lives. Most are guilty of both.
The best part is he's right. He's winning. Granted, he isn't living life the way I want to or the way I would if I had his money and resources, but he's living exactly how he wants to. If he doesn't care how that affects his lifespan, neither should any of you. He wants to live fast and he's doing just that. People are just being judgmental because they aren't wealthy or talented or courageous enough to live life the way they truly want to. Not that Charlie Sheen is talented, but he sure is wealthy. He's wealthy and he's winning at life.

He makes us all look like droopy eyed, armless children.
I'm not sure I agree with the fact thathe's living the way he wants to. I don't know much about all of this Sheen-media craze but it seems like he's got a serious addiction problem and addicts generally aren't living the way they want and are miserable until they start seeking help and change their lives so it is how they want it to be. Not caring how it affects your lifespan is fine, but he's also not caring about how it affects those around him, namely, his children. I also think there's a part 'c' to your list, and that's that people live boring and hallow existences and this kind of drama makes them feel like they're important.

Part 'c' refers back to 'a', with which it can be synonymised.

I like how's Dystopia's first return post is a fucking awful Charlie Sheen joke. I would have expected nothing less!
Yeah, I agree about the whole Charlie Sheen thing and I think every other normal person does too. Anything about any celebrity's big "fallout" or "binge" or "breakup" is fucking horrible garbage for that matter, but this is something everyone on here I'm sure agrees with. Its like that one South Park ("Britney WAAOUTCH!") where the world sets up a celebrity to have a downward spiral and die for a new harvest of corn.

I would like to know why Charlie Sheen totally topped violent civil wars in Libya and Cote D'Ivoire in terms of media coverage this past week (though to be fair Anderson Cooper didn't get punched in the face in either Libya or the Ivory Coast). It's more than a little bit sad that it took a massive earthquake/tsunami in Japan to supplant him with a genuine news story.
That is probably the only way in which he's actually 'winning:' in terms of the ratio of media coverage to actual importance of the story, he is the clear winner. There are several losers.
Especially Chris.

Sorry for the absence, fans; I've been busy getting my legal affairs in order after I had the foresight to buy massive shares in Japanese double-glazing. I got myself a yacht, which I then sank using my patent-pending Jap-firing cannon in remembrance of Pearl Harbour. Don't get your panties in a twist, the Jap in question was already dead (water on the lung). His Asian eyelids made him whistle as he flew through the air, but because he had one eye closed it sounded more like the stun guns from Star Trek.
Why is it that every time I fuck off for a month or two I come back to the news that an earthquake or a flood or a tsunami has cleansed the world of non-whites? I can only assume it's God's way of telling me that my objectionable posts on this forum are the only thing keeping beige people in rice and little wooden shoes. You're welcome. I think it's more likely, however, that these disasters are a judgement on the homosexuals of the world. Not for their sexuality, but for how they give me erections against my will.
I've also noticed a correlation between my absence and the frequency of Chris' posts. I turn my back for a few weeks and he tries to crowbar himself back into our lives. I'm literally depressed by this, because it implies that he hates me, and I can't understand why that could possibly be the case, the half-cooked ginger-balled cunt that he is.

Paddsy, I'd take a crowbar over any of you at any time. What's up with you? You go off, have a lot of fun, maim a guy and don't even offer a make up barbecue? For shame!
So, the social democrats have finally found a new party leader. This is him. This guy will be their guiding light in preparing to run an effective opposition, and the one who will wrestle power from our Evil Alliance in 2014. Yea. You don't really need a translation to get the gist, do you?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_Tve0Tu4kM
P.S. Yea, I know that here in Sweden the youth section of the Moderates (a.k.a. the gang I'm in) has a long reputation of doing parodies of whatever comes out of the lefties. In this case, though, they won. We're stumped.

What's the red logo? It looks like a shot up Hallmark card logo. The guy had more chrome on his head than his bike. Was that his security guard behind him?

You'd actually eat something I cooked for you?
The guy in your video is speaking English. A transcript:
Exemplar ammonia, pour out milieu. The river 'til vexed, gay for a dog, cock yums spud daylight. Eat the mince, pour in sugar, export Mac ladder. All things considered, your translation was an improvement. Say what you like about that party, lately they've been pretty damn ace at supplying us with Whisky Tango Foxtrot moments.

It's the social democrats logo. It's a rose, dont'cher know. The punchline of the thing is that 100.000 members are louder than a chainsaw. I told you - Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in abundance.

I'm so tempted to contact her through her website, assuming the details on it are still current. She's pretty much my dream woman, except she still has all of her limbs and probably isn't into The Cosby Show half as much as I am.

Chris deserves to have an inferiority complex; he's a member of an inferior race.
Though I suppose at least he's not Ginger McGingersauce, who is a ginger.

She's probably dead already, which isn't a problem in and of itself, but you can't really have a corpse transported through customs just by marrying it like you can with live Japs, and I ain't interested in a long distance relationship with someone who can no longer use email.

He's a member of three inferior races: browns (Wesley Snipes), light-browns (Ricky Martin) and gingers (not Paddy). You could even go so far as to refer to Chris' genetic mash-up job as...heh...SPIC 'n' MICKS! Fuck me I rule, look at how much I ruled back there.
His association with you just makes things so much worser, by virtue of it tarring him with both the j00 and gay-homosexual oven jockey brushes.

Two things come to my mind watching and reading that. Part a is that once again I get confirmation that I do indeed not value all human life equally. Seeing as, despite how brutally awesome that was, I can't help but feel satisfaction that at least it ended with him dying, the irresponsible, egotistical, selfish fucking numb wit. Being raped by a warthog would indeed have been a more suitable follow up, but you just have to take what you get.
Part b is that I am not surprised at all that god told him to it. Seriously. I can't even muster the investment to raise an eyebrow anymore.

When you're banned for a month you're not supposed to come back to discover you've been unbanned.
As usual, mtv_is_gay is special.

I just saw an advert on the telly asking for £3 a month to save Amazonian jaguars. Nothing like getting your priorities in order, eh?

Unfortunately being a bit of a dick isn't a bannable offence in and of itself. All he did was ignore warnings not to post any more pot threads. The good news is that the forum has just this minute introduced a 2-strike rule - if you get suspended 2 times you're gone for good. More good news is that the rule only applies to Dystopia. If all of that good news isn't enough for you, try this on for size: all other members of MT are hereby invited to provoke Dystopia into lashing out using any means they deem appropriate in the confidence that they have complete immunity as they do so.
Disclaimer: the above may or may not be true.

Y'know, I was at a meeting with the party group at city hall last week, and I actually thought at one point "Fuck, it'd be great if we could just conduct business the MT-way. Well, maybe not great, but this meeting sure would be over faster, with a noticeably higher degree of instantaneous satisfaction".

Are you still trying to legalise incestuous marriage? Mate, just move to Ireland; not only is it easier, but it's actively encouraged. Comes with a free radio alarm clock, too!

See, this is what I mean. Liberal values and instantaneous satisfaction. MT POLITICS FTW!

I'm extremely liberal, in fact just the other day I allowed a Chinaman to deliver curry to my house. I even let him inside the fence! That was until I thought better of the idea and chased him back out with a broom, but it still counts.
