Well, one of the biggest things in most good zombie movies is the human-human struggles so it isn't that, its just the way they did. Zombies seemed to be the second biggest issue they were dealing with most of the time. I can understand this, though, as you can't really personify a zombie. There can't be an evil, plotting, malevolent zombie antagonist that can be developed which has to make it really hard to have a zombie series. That wasn't all of it though, I think I just didn't like how most of it was done. Maybe I should give it another go.

I've seen 3 or 4 episodes of Arrested Development, and in order to get Dylan to stop cutting his thighs I agreed to download more, but I'm seriously having trouble making myself watch another one. Ha, it's funny you mentioned The Fly, because that episode is actually heralded by many critics to be the best episode of all time. I absolutely hated it the first time I watched it. Upon second viewing, it wasn't as bad as I originally thought, but I still think it's the most boring episode.

I agree that Vince Gilligan tends to overdo many aspects of the show in an attempt at coming off as "artistic," but the fact remains that Breaking Bad is one of the best dramas to ever air on network television (Twin Peaks being the best). And when it comes down to it, the show delivers some pretty gnarly action.

I adore how the episodes are crafted. The show can be extremely intense, seemingly without much happening, and even The Fly episode had a lot going on underneath. If I remember correctly it was a big character building episode for the relationship between Jesse and Walt.

I agree completely. I love this show, but there are a few gripes I have with it along with the one you mentioned:

1. Fucking Christ how many plot twists depend solely on MASSIVE coincidences? It's fucking retarded, there's one every other episode!

2. Walter White's fingernails really annoy the fuck outta me. It looks like he's been giving handjobs to a belt-sander.

3. Pretty much every single fucking episode is a cliffhanger, there's rarely any feeling of climax or resolution, it's just an unending hike up the side of Mount Fuck-all, usually until the very last 5 minutes of the last episode of the season, although season 3 climaxed like a "happy ending" at Joe's house (learn the difference between wanking and Chinese burns, cunto) and we had to wait 13 months to see what the fuck happened. It really leaves me feeling disappointed, like I've been promised a handjob for my birthday and when the hooker shows up it turns out to be an unconvincing pre-op ladyboy with calloused palms.

In sum, I'm in dire need of a handjob.

I agree on the never-ending cliff hangers, but that's what keeps the show so anticipated. It makes it a struggle to get through the week. But really, Paddy, you can't complain. You saw the first two seasons straight through!

If you ever listen to the creators talk about the show, they like to give the impression that the series is much more complicated than it seems at first glance. In response to the show being "slow" or "boring" in some parts, they'd probably reply that it is purposefully done to juxtapose mundane life inner mixed with brief moments of craziness and extreme violence, much like the actual world of illegal drug trade.


As for cliffhangers, you gotta keep the audience guessing. Sure, it's convoluted, but it's entertaining. Next week should be interesting. We should guess the fates of each character.

I think:

Jesse will die by the end.
Walter will end up in jail.
Walt Jr. will get over his speech impediment. J/K. He'll probably go to live with Hank and his cunt of a wife.
Skyler will be indicted on charges as well and end up in prison.
The laundry will be burnt down as to not implicate any of the big time players.
Gus will walk free.

Saul will, at the very least, skip town.

Skyler will finish off her sex change operation and will finally be able to enter pro boxing, Hank will kill himself by getting Marie to smother him to death with her cold, haddock-flavoured pussy, and during an assassination attempt Walt Jr will take a bullet for Walt Snr by unsuccessfully trying to bat it away with his crutches, but he'll survive and because of the way the bullet hits him he'll be cured of his cerebral palsy and will also have bionic legs which he'll use to fire metallic toe-arrows at any future hitmen, and the series will end with Walt Jr being the godfather of the meth empire and beheading anyone who draws attention to the fact that he has the eyebrows of a child molester.
