Layne Staley

I've been lisening to Alice In Chains and have really began to appricate his vocals. I've never sang in my life and would like to sing in this style. I can't afford a vocal coach, but I am willing to put forth the effort needed to achive this. What can I do? And can anyone do this? Thanks!
Peace.

Your best bet with that is to just sing along to the cd as often a you can and try to emulate his accent. It will take time and a lot of hard work but so long as you are not tone def you should be able to get close enough or even develop your own style.

i'd have to agree with exhumed carcass on this one.
it takes alot of practice and "kareoke" to find the right areas of your throat/body to make the exact same sounds that any one would make; in this case Mr. Staley.
