I went to a Steve Vai premier of his upcoming DVD. Met him, met his violin player too and talked to her for a while (she's really young and hot ) She's working with Hans Zimmer right now, damnit
Steve wished me luck in my compositions... and if this were a video game that would have actually made me better or something.
The DVD was pretty cool, and seeing it on a big screen was fun, but I'm just not into that whole virtuoso stuff anymore. There's a violin duel that the two violinists wrote and I thought that was awesome.
It was pretty fun having my childhood god walking around in a small courtyard, along with his whole band and shit I think the highlight was talking to his hot violin player haha. My dad will be working with her soon... I gotta hop on dat shit, nigga.

Haha this is just absurd. I was playing Zombie Panic earlier tonight and there was this one girl playing on the server for TEN hours straight, without even taking a break. The administrators all confirmed that this was true. When I joined she was at 900 something kills. When she got to 1,000 kills I took a screenshot. Keep in mind that when I play for just an hour I can only rack up about 60-70 kills.

Apparently her legs were completely numb from sitting in the chair for so long. That can't be healthy

Don't worry, I will make sure Steve promotes metaltabs on his upcoming appearances!! I actually know his personal e-mail address haha, so maybe I could start harassing him and sending metaltabs promotions
And I will surely try to "Pork Her. In The Face"

I remember being so consumed and obsessed with a game when I was a kid that I started to lose my grip on reality somewhat. There was a part in the game where you have to find ashes (long story) and I was searching fruitlessly for about 4 days solid, and I remember walking over to the shops near my house and seeing some burnt cinders on the ground and for a split second I was like "FUCK! I need them shits!" until I realised what a stupid and fucking disturbing reaction that was to have...

Someone here mentioned the Tetris Effect before, didn't they? That's exactly what you were experiencing, Paddy! I have experienced it all too many times... it actually starts to get distracting.
I used to play this game all the time called Toribash. It's a physics turn-based fighting game, where you control every joint in your characters body in order to make them engage in the action, w00t! Anyways, you can only imagine what I'd think about while watching people moving around me all day... not to mention I'd look at a cup on the table and be like, "should I contract my pecs and shoulder and then extend the left elbow to grab this?"

I went through the same thing with the first Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It got so bad that I would play the game in my sleep and when I woke up and started playing the game I would have almost deja vu-like moments.

I had some similar things happen to me. Last year I would play warcraft 3 so much that I would start repeating stratagies and plays in my head involuntarily while trying to sleep, and I think while sleeping. I was dreaming this game. If I couldn't beat the "opponent" I would toss and turn and get shit quality sleep. It was horrid. So yeah, kinda like what MyOwnSavior was doing.

I used to be obsessed with Resident Evil 2 and I'm still obsessed with all the Silent Hills and everything about Silent Hill. I've seen the movie a billion times and even drove through Centralia, Pa (which is the town with an underground coal fire burning where they got the idea from)

Oh man I want to go there! I'm a super Silent Hill 2 fan... that game is fucking great. I really want to play 3, and then after that... I need some suggestions.

Yeah, it's the Outre artwork. I like Seepia more but its artwork would be harder to see as an avatar. New album drops next month and there's a new song on their myspace called Larvae.

Yeah, I know about Centralia. I wrote lyrics for a song inspired by and even named Centralia a while back and posted it in the Poetry Lyrical board. I cranked it out in about 10 mins and it's definitely not my best work.

Haha I had the same problem when Half-Life 2 was first released when I was around 16 or 17. I played that game for hours and hours, until one day I went to open my front door and I thought to myself 'press E'. Needless to say I took a break for a day or two haha.

I just woke from the worst dream that I got stuck behind in California somehow. I never even been there, but it was just a horrible dream, one where you wake up and just feel fucking relieved.

I used to, but I just hate learning other people's songs. It is really boring to me, but every time I work up the balls to do it I get better at guitar. and my ear sucks so I've never personally tabbed a song either. Aside from arranging all of my bands stuff and my solo stuff in powertab.

To all Cross fans: I saw him last night in LA. Not only did I luck out by a couple giving me and a friend their second row seats, but Bob Odenkirk interrupted the show halfway through and they did a bit together. SCORE!
And I saw Ron Jeremy while trying to sneak backstage.

Here's me and transient playing a gig back in '07. We haven't really been playing out that much recently, it's been over a year now lol. Lately i've been playing in this thrash/old school metal band that's been getting a nice amount of shows, no footage though.

Darko: I wish I were you. Except I live in the same city as Cross and can see him on the street. That's pretty cool.
So I guess I'll rephrase that: I wish I were inside you. Not all of me, though. I don't think even you, with your legendary elasticity, could manage that.

Well yeah, that one Titan-band has got some gigs now and some in the future.
Also playing live bass in Aosoth (don't mind the quality on "Angels Falling Down", it's pre-mixing, but the other songs are nicely produced), had a few real big headlining gigs with them (they are quite a huge band), more in prospect when the new album's out vid
And then Asphyxiate, also having quite a lot of gigs in foresight, highlight so far has been playing in Zurich, Switzerland (had to cross 4 borders for that) facebook-vid

How far of a drive was the show in Switzerland for you? The furthest i've ever played from home was in Connecticut which was about a 2.5 hour drive. I'd love to go on a tour, it's so fucking fun to travel to and play places you've never been to before.

Ahh I see. Fuckin' civilians always get the brunt of it during shit like this. When you said "picking off" it reminded me of a sniper who came here from the U.S. to help out the IRA, and he would take out soldiers along the border. Can't remember the cunt's name, though. I think he was an ex-Marine.

Ever since then I have been obsessed with the sound and feel of low frequencies.

Haha man, that sounds like the flashback sequence in a movie about some Hendrix-like figure. In other words, fuckin' cool No one in my family was musical, so it was a bit strange for me to be the first to get into it. I remember when I was about 9 or 10 I went into what could be characterised as a pawn shop, and there was a red Strat hanging on the wall. I wanted it, bad. I asked the shop keeper how much it was, and I think she said it was a few hundred, and I didn't even bother taking out my pocket money to count. I don't know what I was expecting; "it's Ł4, but you can just take it, 'cause I can tell you really want it". DAMN YOU, ECONOMICS!

Sounds like your dad had a pretty interesting run. He should write a book.
Do you guys jam together? I sometimes wish I had someone older I could jam with, but like I say no one else in my family has even owned an instrument haha.

Do people do that even when they don't speak English? I know a lot of other onomatopoeia's are different in different languages; it would be strange to think that pirate language alone transcends all language barriers.

hmm...possibly, since there where pirates that where German or Turkish or whatever. The English pirate is still the most popular I think.

d&q: There have been all sorts of pirates. Right now we have pirates in Somalia. What makes them pirates is that they use boats to take over other boats and make money through stealing shit on the high seas. They don't wear 17th century coats and 3-corner hats and have parrots on their shoulder and say 'yarr matey.' I wouldn't be surprised to find out that that particular type makes up a very small percentage of real life pirates.

Does anybody else think of "Meth Labs" when they type "Metal Tabs"?

Thanks for asking! Hubby got his 18 stitches out a couple days ago. Our regular doc did that. He said he had never seen one of these in his 25 years of practice. He's got a little tingling in his knees and toes, but he and I are walking at the cemetery down the street which has about a 3/4 mile drive around it. It's not until the very last part that he starts getting a little stumbly, but he's not used to walking that much anyways. His internal organs are getting back to normal now, too, which was something we were real concerned about. Before Epsom Salts water was the only thing that would go through him and that's harsh stuff. Our family, church family, and friends have been wonderful. Lots of friends on the net, too. He'll find out in a few weeks when he can go back to work.

Richie, watch this live version of Bring Back The Apocalypse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRKB3FXf3hw The improv in the beginning with Nils acting really disorientated really freaked me out when I saw it (I was there). God damn, they're incredible. To anyone else that watches, the band is Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and the song doesn't actually start until 2:46.
