i gave them a 3 for effort. I can bare with the song Secrets of the Black Arts but their concerts are just plain lame....they sometimes even have nu-metal bands opening for them.

There cover of king diamond's The Trial was even better totally fucking ruled over the original!!
And also who cares if nu-metal bands open for them, i mean come on they may be sell outs but that doesn't matter as long as they keep playing good black metal!!
I mean at least they didn't pull a Kovenant and go from amazingly awesome majestic black metal to watered down gay ass industrial goth!!!

Resurrecting the thread for a reason.
So I've been giving them a listen and the 2 songs I downloaded hit the nail on the head as far as I like in black metal - No symphony orchestra, no bullshit, just blastbeats and trem picking. Do they ever stray far from this?

Finally I can express my opinion about Dark Funeral.
Utter Gayness!
Gayest melodies ever(I really don't know why most swedish
bands have these kind of melodies),more gay than little Richard,
more pop than Madonna.
Don't forget how antichristian they are.
They get a zero(0) from me and I wish it could be lower.

I'll give them a 3 for being quite average, but not being mediocre (which would be a 2). A few good songs and melodies here and there. Image is about as thought-provoking and intelligent as a white wall in a house where all the walls are coloured some degree of white.

The Nocturnal Silence by Necrophobic is way better, so I give Dark Funeral a 3 for being "just alright." From what I know the orignal guitarist of Necrophobic departed and created Dark Funeral. He wrote better stuff for Necrophobic.
