Who is or who do you think is the fastest drummer alive right now? Also what is the fastest metal drummer too?

Are you serious about Lars man? I don't think that he is that great or fast, he is better than me but still, I think that there are people way way faster than him.

Yes I am serious.
He is one of the fastest drummers ive heard.
some of the stuff he plays is so easy (Master of puppets), but he is so famous for triplets, etc. he is amazing.
have you heard one?
The drumming on that near about 4:00 is amazing. That fast on a bass drum is pretty good.
Who do you think is better? I know their are some amazing drummers, but lars is definetly one of my favorites.

Yeah man I love "One" I know which part you are talkin about too, that's my favorite part, I don't really know who is the fastest, I just started playing drums and all so I don't know many drummers.

What kind of set you busting on?
I got;
Tama Vintage Red Superstar (All the drummers are envious of my AMAZING sounding bass drum, I have yet to hear anything better)
Stuff in it; Snare drum (standard), two mounted toms, an expansion set of pearl drums, and two floor toms, zildjian cymbals(hihats, crash, ride, splash china)
Acces; double bass pedal, double hihat trick (buying it soon actually), Lars Ulrich sig. Drumsticks
I need to expand it more.
But I really like Lars' drumming, its fresh, even though dated, I havent found a drummer I really like more. (Besides danny carey )

dude sepifilth if you think lars plays fast triplets & all...youve got to check out jaska raatikainen (children of bodom)...the dude plays triplets at more than 200 bpm for the whole song !!!
other 'fastest' drummers:
dave lombardo
gene hoglan
sean reinart
fuck man wot am i typing...each & every death/black metal drummer is faster than lars

Yeah man, that's what I thought too, I like Lars though he is pretty good but not the best. His drum set is bad ass though, I love his damn Starclassic set, I think that it will be my next set, to get a 7 piece Starclassic set with the Lars Diamand Plated Snare.

lars is no doubt a kickass drummer & his kit rulz...the one thing i like about lars' playing is the cymbal shots he hits anywhere in between a bar...and his kick-work is also cool...but that cant just say that he's the fastest out there

I like all the old shit Metallica used to play, but the new stuff is too slow and kind of suck's but yeah Lar's is the one that makes it sound metal kind of because without him then they would sound pretty much like shit.

They are drummers that in my opinion I like.
Alot of his beats & grooves are quite nice, if not fast, very creative. Right now Im learning Divine on the drums, the intro is kickass. I love it
Not being a huge fan of death/black metal music I cant say that your true. But tell me some good bands of the genre and Ill download asap....

Yeah dude, I totally agree with you on that one man, Neal is good, me and some friends in school were talking about how good he is even though it's not metal but he is still bad ass. The bassist is good too. They are all good, because don;t theyt all have like the highest and best music degree there is?

Well 'feeling' wise yes, Lars is probably the best. Well maybe he is tied with Vinnie from Pantera... Speed wise though it is official that the drummer from Berzerker is the fastest drummer. He has the world record, just recently set, for fastest double base and snare. Not sure how they judged it but I'm sure if you look it up you can find out.

Panteras drummer is very good, and so is dave lombardo (slayer)
Other drummers:
Joey Jordison (slipknot) no joke you guys but this guy is the man, he is only 4ft sumthing and he kicks ass on drums, the solo from there dvd is amazing, the bass drum speed, and everything, the guy whacks the hell out of the drums and just so rhythmic, and yeah check out some early stuff (mfkr) and the drums will blow you away

when it gets down to it dave lombardo is probably one of the best. he really doesnt play anything fancy or creative at all, but its fast as hell and thats what works for slayer. paul bostaph was fast and everything but he tried to get too fancy sometimes and it just ended up sounding stupid (like 90% of god hates us all for example...)
gene hoglan IS the man. he came up with this really weird stuff for death and that fit the songs perfectly. for strapping young lad and punch drunk he pretty much just beats the shit out of his drums which works for THOSE songs.
lars is just not that fast. he has great feel and he has some creative parts but he's just not all that fast. i think dyers eve is the fastest song and its only like 210 BPM or something.
the bezerker's drummer is wicked fast but i dont think he holds the records. www.extremesportdrumming.com shows the people who have the fastest times on double bass and snare. i could be wrong he might be the fastest but whatever. thats all he does is blast beats.
hellhammer cheats live. he triggers his bass drums and puts a reverb effect on them...or so ive heard
otehr really fast drummers are kevin talley (ex-dying fetus/misery index). he was one of the guys that almost got the slayer drummer spot before dave came back. he's got the whole hyperblast thing going on but he can play much more than that...everything he does is smooth
derek roddy from hate eternal is a beast. so is doc from vader.

What do you guy's think is the best song from Berzerker, and then also what would be the fastest song from them too, because I haven't listened to them yet.

i know many really fast drummers. the guy from dying fetus, joey jordinson, the guy from cryptopsy, and paul mazerkiewz from cannibal corpse. i know a lot more. i think lars ulrich is good, but hes not that good. i can play every solo ive ever heard from him. hes still good, but not as good as those who i just mentioned.

The only berzerker song i have heard is reality and another random song from a demo earache cd, so yeah reality, the blast beats in that is amazing aswell.

Pain and Rock N' Roll Terrorist are pretty good. On these songs it's all drum machine but I saw them with Vader and Immolation about 6 months ago and they had their drummer pulling it all off.

Yeah man, I was telling my dad about the new album and how there is some fast ass drumming, because Metallica is my dad's favorite band and all. I wan't that CD when it's out, I wish I would have ordered it before it came out so I get it on the same day it comes to the stores because I am signed up for that Metallica membership thing.

What do you mean if I buy the normal one? What's the difference if I buy it today or Monday?

Lars.... what the fuck!
Lars Sucks .....
he is not fast at all.....
I dont remember too much about drummers names, but i think Deaths drummer on "Sound of Perseverance"album, is one of the most fastest guys i ve ever heard before.
He kicks Lars ass in speed and technics

Ok, I know what you mean now, well I got the CD that same night liek the third day it was out, so I have it now and I am not that happy with it. I don't care for it that much. The lyrics suck! He makes them ryme and everything and I don't like that.

Yeah I agree with that man. I don't like it at all. They need to stick with the sound of their older stuff, but with faster drumming.

I have never listened to Origin. Are they a good band or just the drummer is fast? I will download them and check them out later though.

I have their newest cd Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas and it's pretty good. The songs lack variety at some points but other than that it's good. I saw them live about 6 months ago w/ Vader, good show.

Fastest Feet Winner is a Metal dude!
Great board here and this is my first post but hopefully not my last. I did some checking into the whole WFD (worlds fastest drummer) Xtreme sport drumming thing and found this link saying Reno metal drummer from VILE! beat out all others at world finals last year. I have heard some of Vile and they do rip hard, check out:
http://www.extremesportdrumming.com...amm/namcon.html
Reno is from Denmark.
Derek Roddy of Hate Eternal also has some fast feet. www.extremesportdrumming.com has Mike Mangini of Steve Vai listed as fastest bare hands with 1138 in 60 seconds with no sticks?
One kid is from the Bronx with 1152. If I am figuring it right that is 19.2 times a second for 1 min. this is insane. Anyway great site and I thought I would report my information from searching on fastest drummer.
Oh, almost forgot dude from Beautiful Creatures is one of the wfd top guys also. I like their stuff too! What was their mtv thing? Pretty cool for mtv anyway.

Hey doctor Thanks. I have enjoyed tooling around reading in here. Noticed you are from Holland. Do you know the Reno from Vile? He's from Denmark, but I had never heard of him before Vile. Are the wfd contest big in Holland. On their site it says there was one at Rock Palace Music Store in The Hague. Is that close to you?

I am going to check that VILE band out in a little bit, but welcome killdrum. Thanks for that info, someone a while ago posted on here saying Berzerker is the fastest drummer and it was on some site, but I will check that other one and tell you what I think.

fastest speed drummer
Thanks for all the welcomes and I like it here very much! The official site for speed drumming and worlds fastest drummers is www.extremesportdrumming.com The dude from Steve Vai's band is awesome too! One would have to be because I think Steve Vai is probably the fastest guitarist in the world. Makes sense to me. I wonder if the same machine that counts drummer's speed will work for guitar?

But the drum tracks on the Individual Thought Patterns sounded
so jazzy. I wish it sounded more aggresive. But yeah, there was lots
of good drumming in there. But I think the drummer during
"human" was more creative making the drum parts sound in-key
with the guitar & bass. But I don't think he's really-really fast though,
but he's creative! What band is he in now?

The drummer on Human (Sean Reinert), went back to Cynic after the Human tour, and was in a few projects with Paul Masvidal. He's in a band called Aaonn Spoke (no, that isn't spelt right!), which sounded pretty naff when I heard it... by no means metal anyway. Fastest drummer has to be Gene Holgan. He plays an amazing way, with his kit set up right handed by playing left handed. I think he was at his fastest in Dark Angel (Leave Scars/Darkness Decends).

Wasn't the drummer on the Human album Paul Masvidal?
You put Sean Reinart who was actually on the Scream Bloody Gore album.
How come Death kept changing line-ups?

Death? Are you talking about the band called Death? I like that band, they are pretty sweet. I started listening to them about 6 months ago and they are pretty good. I didn't think they were, but I was wrong.

line change ups come with several reasons, personal shit like kids or marriage, or the money, drummers and bassists are mostly not getting as much money as the lead guitar and singer.
not fare

I think they should all get the same....
Me being a drummer, bassist, and guitarist, I think
we should all get paid equal especially when everyone
does there part to make kick ass music.

I agree with you guy's on that. Even if they didn't get the same, (even though I am more of a guitarist) I think that the drummer should get the most since his shit costs more than everyone elses.

That sucks man. Yeah my drum set ( I don't think) is not shitty. It's a Tama Artstar ES. Does anyone know if they are pretty good, because I know that they are old, but I heard they are good for metal because I read that somewhere.
