i just got some money and i am looking for an effects pedal. the only one i have right now is a boss metalzone and i was thinking of either getting a wah or an equalizer pedal. I have effects on my amp like a flange,delay,wah,and octave, but their not all that good, but also is an eq pedal worth it. i was wanting one but have never ued one before and am not sure of what are some good settings to liven up my sound.
if you could give me some settings or suggestions that would be great.(also only single effects pedals, i'm to poor for a multi fx pedal.

i say buy a wah now. Maybe next time you have the money, buy a rack mounted EQ system, they kick ass.

Tremolo may also be nice if you play solo's

Take a wah, Tremolo, delay, whatever and try it all out. When I get money, I'm gona try this out also. I think boss has god qualety.

also today i heard someone using a pitch shifter/harmonizer, i think that chuck schuldiner used this and it sounds like it would be really good for playing solos. any one have any settings or any tips/experience with a pitch shifter/harmonizer?

I think zoom do some singular effects, try some of them, including wah, distortion, tremelo, and like other metal sounds, just program them

well... if you're too poor for a multi-fx pedal, a harmonizer's in about the same league. It would also depend on how much you would use it (I would image not a whole lot).

IMO, if you want more control over your tone, go for an equalizer, then later go for the harmonizer.
