Cool Opeth tour

Its been awhile since Ive posted anything but how could I refuse after hearing this great news.

The band I have been playing with for the past six years(Pathogen) has just been chosen to support Opeth on thier Austalian Tour in Perth. Now I know that all the work and dedication is paying off for I have loved this band since their first albulm.
If someone had told me when I first started that this would happen, I would have told them to fuck off.

So basically what Im saying is, all you musicians out there, never give up your desire to play. For even though shit can kick you when your down, it can also do the oppisitte.

Fuck I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

NEWSFLASH:
**OPETH SMASH FACES IN SYDNEY**

I was lucky enough to be standing right on the edge of a balcony, and saw everything - the whole band, the whole crowd, it was just about perfect. Anyway, these guys tore the Metro up and holy fuck I've never seen a comparatively small crowd make so much noise.

From memory, the set-list was:

Leper affinity
Advent
Deliverance
The Drapery Falls
Credence
Bleak
A Fair Judgement
Demon of the Fall

... but I'm sure that's not exactly right.

If you were ever wondering how they maintain the 'live' momentum through the quiet parts, it's simple - they push the heavy parts harder and quicker. Even so, I was surprised at how many people enjoyed the quiet parts and knew the words. It didn't really fuck the songs up too much, and obviously they weren't there for an acoustic set.

Best on the night were Deliverance - it tore new assholes to the cosmos, it really sounded great live; and The Drapery Falls. Which just fucking smoked. A good selection off all the albums above, leaning more towards the recent stuff though. Which is good.

I was not prepared for the way these guys look on stage. The bass player was only about 5'4. Tiny little fucker. The drummer looked a little bit like an identikit picture of a criminal and the guitarist was a tall, cavernous hippy who looked like a Swedish Blue Oyster Cult member. And Mikael himself? He had a child molester moustache. That I did not see coming. I think he was a bit impressed with the crowd, he sounded all emotional when he had to say goodbye I'm sure he says that every show though . But fair cop, the crowd was great. Except for one colossal goatfucking whore's cunt who yelled out during a quiet section. I hope he dies. And his family, and friends, and pets. And anyone who's met him. And their aunts.

Verdict:
Opeth are still my favourite band. Cunts.
