More uncontrollable leakage
So I heard my first song from Cradle of Filth's "Damnation and a Day", and I gotta say, it kicks ass. VERY catchy guitar/keyboard riffs.
Danni is singing differently though, he is sorta doing what the guys from In Flames and Soilwork did, slowly going more clean. It actually is an improvement is many cases. Also, the heavy snare and double bass blasts have been toned down.
Sony must have seen something in them that made them wanna sign them, cuz newer Anathema and Amorphis is still a lot more mainstream.
Still, "DAAD" seems like it will be their best album yet, even surpassing "Midian"
By far the best BM band around.

I bought the cd "Dusk and Her Embrace", and was really turned off by it cuz it was a big steaming pile. Then I got some Midian mp3's which I really liked, but this stuff really blows me away.

I can't get myself to listen to CoF. I have Midian, but I only listened through it once, and I hate Dani's voice.

Yeah, it's better then Midian, but it still isn't my thing.
it's a shame CoF is turning populair here, all the porn's gone and shit, and kids are buying their shirts and cd's here, it sucks

I have the album and it´s good, at some points even great... but it will never get as good as Vempire, Cruelty or Dusk... Dani´s voice is all fucked up...

You like Dani's old voice? When I first got "Dusk...", I listened to it in my car, and his voice actually made my ears hurt. It was so high pitched............

I gave the album a listen a couple weeks ago, and I liked alot of the riffage in it. Sometime's Cradle's riffing is pretty asskicking, but it's just not enough to make up for Mr. Filth's vocals.

I know I asked this before, but are their two vocalists (perhaps one of the guitarists sings too)? Because, Dani sings, and then at the same time, their will be a guy with a deep growl singing too (those vocals also are done during the spoken word parts of the songs).
Slayme, you are very right on the good riffing. This album has some of the most melodic riffs I have heard. The intro on Hurt and Virtue is amazing.....

Thats right... Dani does all the vocals, resulting in a cool sound on the cd... but live it´s very empty... also the real low growl he can´t do live, so thats just edited...

I'm with slayme. The band has written some riffs that just grab you by the balls, but unfortunately more of their riffs have seemed to grab Dani by his.
