Why i will NEVER join a pre existing band.
Boy did i have a fun sunday. I tried out for a local Death Metal band. At the try out their setup sucked. It was a wonder i HAD 5 seconds to not feedback. then i finaly rattle out some good licks, a little solo style stuff, and play some good tremolo scaleing with their drummer. Afterwards they tell me and i quote "You need to really work on some old sabboth stuff we do at least one cover of theirs at every one of our shows. even after i told them i use covers for practice not to perform. this is why i WILL not join a pre existing band. I understand i have to expect some things when joining a band. but always doing sabboth covers? talk about lame.

why dont you just hang around with a band and see how you guys get along? as you find out more about each other youll know whether to go on or think twice.
saves the hassle of playing through withem and realising someone sucks.

Eh, I hate Sabbath, so I can relate. However, you were trying to JOIN a band, not FOUND a band. Therefore, if you wanna be a team player, you really have to listen to them in the beginning. Later on you can add you own material and opinions.
Don't forget YOU were auditioning for THEM.

He has a point there man, plus it was their band to start with, they made it and all, so you should start your own, but being in a band like that is cool becuase they already have everything under control so you won't have to all go out and try to find a drummer and all of that.  So good luck man!

whats all this about everyone hating sabbath? sure ozzy is a sellout bastard, so hate him, but in mob rules, he isnt there! it kicks ass!
anyway, why are you so insulted? if they didnt like your style, then you probably wont like theirs anyway, so it doesnt matter.
