Ozzy Osbourne Bassist Joins Metallica
hmmm, just a day or 2 ago they said he might join zakk wylde's black label society, now he's in metallica. It'll look weird if going to see them live. I saw footage of kirk and he was loosing hair fast, Lars already was so he might as well just shave the little left off. I dont know what james looks like, and then you have a guy whos prolly in his 20s, is real muscular, and has long black hair, it'll look weird. Eh, but whatever.

Yeah I heard that today as well. I cant make any comments until I hear what he is capable of with metallica, and I'll only figure that out when I see them this summer.

yeah I guess you're right, but I got tired of all those metallica threads, 'the new metallica album discussion thread' the 'new metallica thread'....
ah well. I didn't even know that guy was in Ozzy's band, but that means I've seen him live, he does rock. I wonder how he handles the bass duties for metallica.
can't wait for the new album, metallica used to have 'some' kickass bass riffs in the past, who knows, maybe there'll be new classics, but I doubt it..

When I posted that New Album discussion thread, it was the only one. I've tried keeping strict control over that thread but it's still largely inhabited by morons who repeat the "sell out" garbage that was started before they were even born.

I think Turiliojo's role in Metallica will probably be the same as when he was with Ozzy, a very good bassist with great stage presence, but little or no creative input. The new album had already been written before he joined, so he will most like learn the parts and fill in. I think he is a great bassist but not true 'member' of Metallica as such.

Or jazz and classical, Clad. You know, "stand up bass." That'd be vertical, buddy. Up and down. And both jazz and classical have very very little to do with nu metal. And I'm sure I've seen bands that pre-date nu metal that do it. John Entwistle from the Who, for example, was known to do it on occasion. The Who are not nu metal, and anyone who says so should be taken out back and shot. If you dont like him because he's in Metallica, just say "Hey, I think Metallica suck." Dont drag in nu metal and lie, it's unnecessary.

Sometimes I have my bass like that, mostly just for humor, but it actually makes playing somewhat easier for me, as well.
