this should be in Gear, no?
Anyways, what kind of stuff are you playing, what style do you play, what kind of budget have you got?
you gotta ask yourself a lot of questions before buying a new guitar, for metal I would go for Jackson, especially when you live in america where they are cheaper then over here
a lot of Jacksons come with EMG's and Floyds... which is neat...
anyways, tell us what you want so we can give you a descent advice.

good luck finding one in holland...
sucks to be a guitarist here, lol, we've got great bass stores dedicated to bassists but there isn't any descent guitar store in the fucking country. the american guitar store stocks Jackson, If I'm correct
or you could do it the easy way, just order it

HELL YES, THE ALMIGHTY JACKSON! I RECENTLY GOT A JACKSON WARRIOR TX WITH EMG'S AND A FLOYD ROSE, I DON'T THINK I'LL EVER BUY ANOTHER GUITAR AGAIN. AND DEF, YES, IN AMERICA THERE ARE MANY MUSIC STORES THAT SELL JACKSON GUITARS FOR CHEAP. BUT MOST OF THEM AREN'T "HOOKED-UP", MEANING THEY DON'T HAVE FLOYD ROSE, EMG'S, ECT. USUALLY IF YOU WANT A GUITAR LIKE THAT YOU HAVE TO GET IT CUSTOM MADE AT THE SHOP (WHICH WILL COST AS MUCH AS A CAR) OR YOU CAN ORDER IT, WHICH IS WHAT I DID AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD TO WAIT A MONTH I CAN SAY IT WAS WORTH IT.

wtf? no you dont, you can buy a jackson with floyd rose trem, emgs, the works, if you couldn't and you actually paid that much to get it custom made, then you got ripped off buddy. I'd rather just do it myself, just with someone i can trust that knows a bunch about the making of a guitar watching over to make sure im doing it right.
But yeah, jackson is what you should get.

I said usually they don't come with all that good shit in them already, that doesn't mean that you can't find good Jacksons anywhere, i'm sure you can. I'm just saying it was hard for me to find one. And i didn't pay that much, I said i ordered it, it only cost me $500.00.

What about a Gibson SG Gothic or the new voodoo, are they pretty good for some black metal or death metal? Please let me know on that too.

WELL, IF YOU PLAY LEFT-HANDED LIKE I DO GRAB WHATEVER YOU CAN FIND THAT IS COOL BECAUSE THEY DON'T MAKE VERY MANY COOL LEFT-HANDED MODELS. (MY EXPLORER AND A STRAT I AM GOING TO BUY ARE THE ONLY MODELS OTHER THATN A WARLOCK THAT REALLY SEEM COOL)
- OH YEAH, I CALLED JACKSON TO ASK THEM HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO MAKE A LEFT-HANDED RR3. THEY SAID NOT POSSIBLE AND THAT THE ONLY LEFT HANDED RR MODEL THEY MADE WAS THE RR1 WHICH ONLY COSTS $2800.00
-THIS REALLY SUCKS.
BUT IF POSSIBLE I WOULD GO FOR THE RR3 OR ANY RR MODEL BY JACKSON. THEY ARE THE GREATEST. THAT OR THE SL SOLOIST MODELS.

For a McCarty maybe over 2500.00. Im gonna go out on a limb here and risk getting my ass napalmed but I just cant stand Jackson guitars. I've played on a bunch of them at some of the guitar shops here in town and almost everytime I felt like the damn frets were gonna cut my left index finger off. And dont buy the cheap assed Jacksons (read: budget models), they are junk...it seems like you have to go with the high end models to get your money's worth. Don't shy away from the Epiphone Les Paul models (if you can live with the weight and body shape, they are difficult to play setting down). Schecter makes some great guitars. I have a C1, the first version and I put some Seymour Duncan Invaders in it...that guitar is shit hot fellas, fast neck and great tone. Yes its fixed bridge, but I dont like retuning my guitar after a every three or four dive bombs and I have had too many problems with FR tremolos. I have had a Gibson Les Paul Studio, and that guitar was great, neck was different than my Schecter, but I got used to it...wish I still had it.
