Ibanez FZ7 power supply

The instructions say to use only power supplies from Ibanez. Is that essential, or can I use any power supply?

i dunno i have a pedal that sez only use boss power supply. right now i have a coby ac adapter in my boss pedal. oh well. just make sure the voltage is the same.

I don't know for sure, but I think that they just say that so you will by THEIR power supply. If they can get you to buy their pedal they can sucker you into buying the power supply too. I'm sure Ibanez would rather have your money for themselves rather than watch you give it to Danelectro. Just don't use a 12v power supply on a 9v pedal or anything stupid like that.
