Theory of a Dead Man
I'm afraid to post this......so i'll start by telling you what NOT to post:
1. "THIS BAND ISN'T METAL?!?!? IIIIIDIIIIIIOOOOOT?!??!"
2. "Garbage non-metal"
3. "Garbage nu-metal"
4. "What?! They aren't black metal....."
5. Anything i missed from 1-4.
So yeah......i usually don't like these new bands that come out, mainly cause they all sound the same......but there's something about this one that caught my attention. I can tell just by listening that they tune a little lower.....my guess is C...but that's not important.
I just think they're a fairly decent ROCK band. That's right, other styles exist apart from Metal. I usually catch their songs on my way to/from work in my car, and it's pretty good driving music. Personally i think these guys are far better than other similar bands like Creed, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down......whatever......pretty cool name for a band too!
Anyways, anyone who has a POSITIVE comment, please reply. I don't feel like reading pages of immature "this band sucks cause they don't have white makeup" kinda shit.

Never heard of them.. Very rarely do I listen to the radio though, just classic rock stations. I'll download a song or two from them.

Like i said before, don't expect Metal because they aren't metal.
They're just 4 guys who know how to play a good enough ROCK tune. Nothing like Rush or Van Halen......just normal rock. (i think they solo somewhat too, which is kinda nice, even though it's not crazy Cryptopsy style)
It's ROCK. Keep that in mind.
I like Rock, rock rules! Without rock, we'd have no metal.....remember that.

I've followed those guys since their garage days, a demo was circulating around the internet and I happened to catch wind of it and liked it. The reason why they share similarities with Nickelback, is because Chad Kroeger or whatever helped the band write songs for their album. I read about that in guitar world.

Trust me, i used to be an "ALL METAL NOTHING ELSE" kinda guy.
I'd listen to one non-metal song out of about 200 metal ones.......that's changed a bit since then (about 2 years ago). I still mainly listen to metal.....about 95% of the cds i own are metal, and about 99.9% of my mp3s are metal......but lately i don't always "turn off" the radio when rock comes on or something non-metal. I've actually been finding a lot of different influences through non-metal music.
This band being one of them. They aren't technical...there's nothing that stands out as amazing......but i just look at how songs are structured and put together as opposed to metal ones.......then i try to take it all together and write a cool kinda metal song.....maybe that's how Cephalic Carnage and Gorguts come up with their sutff (metal + jazz type stuff).

i think t.o.a.d.m. is pretty good, even if they do sound like nickelback. i especially like their song, "nothing could come between us".
