I'll just give you the sterotypical answer, they might be crappy albums and they might be not. I say this because I never had much interest in buying a pantera album.

Vulgar Display of Power
The Southern Trendkill (not sure what it's exactly called)

Vulgar Display of Power is the best with the classic sound. The Great Southern Trendkill is the better of the two "I FUCKING HATE THINGS" albums.

Yeah dude no-one really knows, we (the fans) have all been left in the dark. It seems like they are afraid to admit that its all finished, but I guess we'll see. ......
As for a good album, I think Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven capture the band in their prime, and would be good choices. That said, there is no bad Pantera albums and in my opinion any Pantera album is better than at least 95 pecent of all other metal.

You can't go wrong with any thing from cowboys from hell to reinventing the steel. Reinventing the steel went a little down hill in my opinion but it's still good. Anything before cfh, the music is still good but Phil screams like a little bitch.

everything after Power Metal is excellent, avoid the live album as your first.

pick any of those. go in order if you want.

I only have the trendkill and it doesnt sound too good to me except for a few songs. And anything before 1985 has phil singing like a girl.
