guitarpro song questions

i am writing my own song on guitarpro 4.0 but it won't let me put in more than one note per measure when adding an underlying track. someone who has guitar pro please give me some insight on adding tracks. thanks. :

you have it set on the full note, thus 1 note to 4 beat measure........

GP4 has many bugs that fuck things up, about every week or so i have been getting an email from the GP4 staff that gives a correction to the program..........

it's not that i have a whole note cuz i know my sheet music. but i'll put in say a second guitar part and i'll put in a chord that is a quarter note and when i go to advance it automatically goes to the next measure.

I found a way that works but it's a pain in the ass. The only way i can put underlying tracks is if i do it one measure at a time. i have to finish the first measure for both tracks before starting the second measure.
