Megadeth/Mechanix help

I've been looking at tabs of this song and I'm REALLY not sure how I'm supposed to be playing it. most tabs make it look like the 5 and 7th fret are played as chords and I'm supposed to be switching between both..

It's easier than it looks really. Just don't down pick the whole thing. Its got a feel to it.
