I highly doubt the average man lasts 2-3 mins, when I was a kid I read that 10 minutes was about average and that seems right to me based on the amateur porn vids I so love to watch and discussions I've had with friends. my work is next to the "macdonald bridge" here in halifax, said bridge has a sidewalk on one side, road in the middle, and a bike area on the other side. time too time people jump off this bridge for suicide reasons. it happends a fair bit, just never issued in the paper or anything like that. but in the last 2 weeks...

so it was a boring moring, standing around not doing much. this one lady comes in, and asks a co-worker "wheres the white shark?" (said bottle, is dirty high volume wine in a 1.5L bottle. for next too nothing.) and was pointed in the area of were we have it stocked. then said out loud "im going too need it today!" (at this point we are "trained" to watch people who display an interest in getting drunk as fuck, for the provence can be held responsible for actions of people and their booze, especially if we sell it too them and not a bar). so the lady comes back slaps that vile bottle in front of me and before i can say "how are you/is that everything?" crap she looks at me and says "I jsut found out my daugter commited suicide!" and im like "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! im sorry for your loss?!" and she then said "she jumpped off the bridge..." again im standing in front of her speach less and have NO clue what too do! she then asked me my age, i said "almost 24." and she said "she was 20...." *about too ball*, paid for booze, then cried and said "take care of yourself".

about an hour later on my break this was in the paper on the front page:

so later on in the week, on a saturday (said bridge is closed on weekend for repairs in summer) these 2 guys who are part of the re-paving team came in on their break to get a tall boy and a few mickies (a 1.75 shot of booze for about 2-4 bucks). and they were like "jesus h christ by'e, that was sum fucked up shit." and i asked what went down. some dude was walking accross the bridge (foot traffic was closed) and they were like "hey you can be on here today!" and GONE! tossed himself right over the bridge! dead.

*cant find news link* but it was a guy who went to my high school a year or two younger then I, and he was part of some indie/harcore/punk scene thing. and yeah just tossed himself right off it.

I was at a baseball game and thought I'd get to see someone dive to their death. This asshole...not sure if he was drunk or what, climbed up the foul ball post thing in the outfield. It's that tall ass yellow, almost scaffolding looking, collection of metal tubing. He got up to the top of it and was sitting there straddling the top wrung on one side. I was waiting to see if he was gonna jump and go splat on the ground below or just cause a scene.. He wound up climbing down and was received by a bunch of cops standing by to take him in.

A guy I was friends with at my first high school climbed up onto the highest part of our school and was threatening to jump. Only problem was it wasn't really all that high. I guess if he would've hit head first onto the pavement he could have done the job. The part he was on was about 2.5 stories tall..probably not a full 3 stories tall. It was surrounded by an area of grass with concrete not too far away.

Other than that, a girl I was also friends with at that same school slit her wrists but was forced to the hospital before it was too late. She wound up in the pysch ward for a little bit before getting out and coming back to school. I have lost contact with her, but last I knew she was still alive.

Most fucked up thing to happen to me isn't all that fucked up, at least not in the whole "cutting off ones genitals" and "jumping off buildings" sense. I also miss these moments, apparently.

One day, these two black guys decided to steal abunch of liquor. They were caught, and ran out of the store and left a little baby in front of the store. Cops caught them, and the baby was turned oer to some social workers.

last night, a woman who was banned from the store came in (she has a shaved head and cut marks all over her arms mid 20's ish). however, she had a wig on and long sleeve shirts. i watched her take some cheap beer and take it to the front, and a co-worker thought she was "odd" looking, and asked for her ID. she had a photo copy of some ID of hers, but that dont fly. so we booted her. 30 seconds later my co-worker saw blood all over the counter, and at that time I already put the beer back, so i went back too the cooler and took a look, sure as hell... there was blood on the bottom. and i had to check over the other next too it. however only the 1 had blood, so i had too toss it. THEN a customer saw blood all over the door. i guess her "cuts" were open or had fresh ones, and she bled thru her long sleeve shit and onto the counter, beer, and door.

and then to top it all off... i served a lady with pink eye 10 mins later hahaha

Dys: all of that stuff has been in place for years. Most of these bots don't use stable IPs (not that unusual; a lot of you don't either), and all of them have been developed to overcome captcha's. We've moved on to some more advanced ways of filtering out the spambots, but obviously we're not at the right level of advancement - you can tell because, if we reach the right level, we get a few weeks of almost no spambots before they catch up the arms race and we have to go through all the bullshit again.

If there were a simple, prophylactic fix for this problem, you never would have noticed the problem at all. We're on it now, and while it will take a while, change will come.

I think we might clear out all the spam by as early as 2020!
