Rammstein will get their asses beat by Maiden all the way, same goes for judas priest, they're the oldskool of metal, I mean, these guys have been the inspiration for hundreds of bands!
Listen to some Maiden, and then you won't need to wonder why bands like Arch Enemy and Children of Bodom covered Maiden.

Without Madien and or Judas, you woudent have the extreme metal that we have today. Any um, halfard has an awesome voice that is very well tranied so saying he can't sing is like saying Jason Becker or Stevie Vai cant play guitar.

1.You say you are a DEATH metal fan...First of all The band Death covered "painkiller" from Judas Priest. And Judas Priest had a more bassy heavy distortion tone than some of the other bands during their time...
