Lex Icon
i got a question about Lex Icon, the singer/bassist of the Kovenant..........
i have their albums "In Times Before the Light" and "Animotronic". Im curious, in Animatronic, does he make his voice have the bad parts on purpose? He sings with sort of a more mainstream black metal voice, but many times throughout the album (Especially on Spaceman) his voice will falter or crack very badly. when he screams sometimes his voice cracks and goes way out of pitch. now, since it is a studio album, it must be on purpose, but does anyone else know why this was done?

there was an episode where they were trying to record a song and they decided it would be "cool and creative" if peter's voice cracked when they were singing about people changing.
basically they were making fun of the kid for growing hair on his sack

well, if ya haven't noticed. Kovenant is kinda of a glam type of band, and if you can 't tell by the lyrics and dress, Lex Icon is a kind of the Marilyn Manson of black metal, and animatronic has alot of manson-ish type things to it, which hey i think animatronic is a damn good album, but he just wants his voice to be all weird and creak like if he's some monster demon whore gettin' it in the ass...so to speak. so that's probably the best explaination i can give for that  |
