Could be an inner ear infection or some such shit. Do you have problems with your ears? And is it only when you're sitting down?

I used to have major ear troubles when I was a kid, and still do to a much lesser extent. Dizziness was one of the more tolerable symptoms, but the stabbing, red-hot-knitting-needle-in-my-eardrum pain sure wasn't!
