Buzzing from my guitar

I have a guitar i rarely play i plug it in today and it buzzes like a son of a bitch when ever my hand is not touching the volume knob. The volume on the knob can be at a 10 or 0 but if i dont touch the knob it wont stop buzzing.

is it grounded poorly or some shit?

sounds like poor grounding to me,

, i'd suggest checking the wire connections and re soldering or tapering the ground

sounds like a grounding issue to me check the wires to the volume pot

If it is the grounding, it isn't necessarily going to be in the volume pot.
