Anyone recommend some DOOM?
I need some new/more doom bands to listen to. The doom bands I already listen to are Swallow The Sun, Novembre, Daylight Dies, Cult of Luna, and Amorphis. So anything along those lines would be cool. Recommend away!

Okay:
Reverend Bizarre - EEEVERYTHING, but I really like II - Crush the Insects and III - So Long Suckers, especially III.
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone and maybe Witchcult Today. Dopethrone's better though.
Ufomammut - Idolum and Snailking HOLY FUCKING SHIT, especially if you liked Dopethrone this shit will kick your ass.
Witch - Witch Great album, RIFFS! Second album (Paranoid) isn't that good though.
The Lamp of Thoth - Portents, Omens & Dooms
Black fuckin' Sabbath of course.
Ou ou ou, how could I forget: SERPENTCULT! Not a big fan of their first EP but their CD has a good load o' killers like Arkanum. Mmmmm that middle piece, and then the part where they speed things up after say 5 minutes. Hmmm. And that ending! Holy shit climax.

The only I listen to which hasn't already been mentioned, but is probably my favourite, is Mourning Beloveth. Definitely worth a look.

I agree for the most part, but there are a few bands that I don't mind.
Novembers Doom- The Novella Reservoir is a pretty awesome album. Katatonia- Brave Murder Day is another great album.

I like Mourning Beloveth because they're Doom without the overkill melodrama (if that's even possible!). They've never used synths/keyboards, and they lean more towards Death than Doom in terms of the vocal style/lyrics. A lot of it is quite rockin', which is exactly what traditional Doom isn't, so it widens the scope of the genre a little.
I love Anathema (one of my favourite bands) but I love their later work more, which is as far from metal as you can get without morphing into Radiohead haha. I'm not overly fussed on the early stuff (two or three tracks, maybe more) but they were one of the main pioneers of the genre, so it's worth checking them out! I recently tabbed an early song of theirs, "Crestfallen". This is one of my favourite early-Anathema tracks
Mournful Congregation are "Funeral Doom", and you can probably guess what that sounds like. The only songs I really listen to with any regularity by this band are the one's I've tabbed! haha
