If I play metal, it's usually slower type of thing. Crowbar and Black Sabbath would be the two closest things to what I normally play...

I like playing a lot of types, like styles from the band Ulver (people say they are Black Metal but they are very weird and not Black Metal at all, kind of like their own catagory, haha)...
I play a lot of Jazz, Death Metal of course - I play some catchy Grind riffs too, but too much is boring.
I also play stuff like Nocturne, and Theatre of Tragedy,..

I personally like thrash,heavy metal... .Im not a real big fan of black or death metal. So in conclusion of this well written essay... I mostly, therefore, play thrash and heavy metal(with exceptions- caz ... Im not a close minded bastard).

i know almost every Iced Earth song (the rythem parts) and a few solos....some Children Of Bodom, Scorpions, Testament, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Iron Maiden and Death are the bands that i play lead to. In my opinion, Jon Schaffer has a better rythem guitar than Larry Tarnowski's solos. (he's kinda boring)

Black metal has like Keyboard parts and Satanical Themes to the lyrics.........
Death most of the time also have Satanical themes but there's hardly any Keyboard....Listen to Dimmu Borgir and Death, then you'll later on tell the difference its practically logical to determone wats Black and Death metal

I USUALLY PLAY DEATH/THRASH BUT I CAN PLAY ANY TYPE OF METAL AND SOME JAZZ AS WELL. I CAN ALSO PLAY THE "CUATRO" ITS A 10 STRING ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENT FROM PUERTO RICO IF ANYONE DIDN'T KNOW.
ANYWAYS, THE DIFFERENCE FROM DEATH AND BLACK METAL (GUITAR WISE) IS THAT BLACK METAL USUALLY TUNE HIGHER THAN DEATH METAL AND OF COURSE THEIR RIFFS ARE HIGHER. DEATH METAL IS DEEPER AND CHOPPIER. WHEN IT COMES TO VOX, BLACK METAL USUALLY HAVE HIGH PITCH VOX AND DEATH METAL IS USUALLY GUTTURAL OR GRUNTED. THE ONLY GENRES I FIND TO BE VERY SIMILAR, ALMOST IDENTICAL ARE GRIND AND DEATH. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT GRIND IS DEATHMEAL WITH OUT SOLOS

I'd love to know more Death Metal.....but the bands i like usually don't have tabs out...either because they aren't big enough, or they're too complicated to tab.
So i usually end up playing Trash type stuff.....mainly Death and Slayer.

The coolest metal stuff i like to play would be really melodic leads like what Marty Friedman, Dimebag or Zakk Wylde plays. I find playing metal rhythyms kinda sucks when your on your own, there only fun in a band situation. My favourite kinda music to play is the blues, but i guess it don't count here because it aint metal.
