I don't post here that often, but I came across these guys yesterday and I think they're worth mentioning. The band is
Mechanism, they're from Vancouver, B.C., Canada and they have one self released album out this year (
Inspired Horrific). Members are as follows:
Gene Hoglan - Drums
Chris "The Heathen" Valagoa - Vocals
Kris Schulz - Guitar
Bryan Somerville - Guitar, Samples
Markus McCallum - Bass

Tracks I'm enjoying quite a bit are 'Machine', 'Hail of the Gods', 'Pummel', 'Awake' and 'Lord And Thief'. They aren't "HOLY SHIT STICKS!!!11!" amazing so don't get the impression that I'm lauding them as such; but for a new band from the west coast of Canada they're damn good in my opinion.
They could be labeled progressive death metal, there's a song or two that have technical aspects but you'll have to judge for yourself. Vocals go from growl to clean at various points.
I'm not sure as to the rules here (it's been a while) so I won't post a link to their entire album right now until I get the okay (rapidshare). You can probably find it without my help though, resourceful as you all are. Discuss your opinions please, to be perfectly honest I'd like to see these guys succeed as there isn't much death metal from the west coast of Canada (that I know of) and this may be a good start.
