Isis recording new album + studio footage
It'd been awhile since I've checked up on any news concerning favorite bands and was very pleased to read that Isis is in the process of recording a new album. They also posted studio footage! They're very short clips, but its better than nothing.
(taken from official Isis site)
11.20.08
Well, so far, so good! We're a little over half way done tracking our new record. It's nice to hear the songs beginning to really come together. Everyone has been doing a great job and we think it's all going to make for one hell of a record. Working with Joe has been a really cool experience. He has a great ear, provides a very comfortable and creative environment, and seems to really understand what we're after. Decibel came by last week to do a studio report that we believe will be out in January 09, as well as an interview with Jeff in Rock Sound that should be out sometime soon. More pictures and videos to come as we have a few interesting things in the works.
12.20.08
We have returned from another terrific tour across the pond and are back in Pasadena finishing up the new songs and should be done before 2010.

Nice find! I thought it all sounded great. Too bad we can't hear much of Aaron's vocals.

Interview about new album. Scheduled to come out May 5th, with an earlier special vinyl release on April 21st. They also got Adam Jones on the record! Very cool.

Aaron mentioned a good possibility for a support tour before the release, and then a headlining tour after.

Everything always links. If I were releasing a highly anticipated album I would obey the X-files cardinal rule: TRUST NO ONE.
TD: Does the version you downloaded sound mastered?
They've also put up two tracks on the myspace: http://www.myspace.com/sgnl05 and have released another video 'trailer' of the making of the album: http://www.isistheband.com/ISIS.aspx

How is everyone liking it? I haven't heard it yet! Every CD store around me has gone out-of-business so I have to drive up to LA this weekend to get it.

It's awesome. It sounds a bit like two parts Oceanic mixed with one part In The Absence of Truth. "Hall of the Dead" and "20 Minutes/40 Years" are up there with the best Isis songs so far, in my opinion.
You need this album, Dylan.

Baaaah, I know! I'll be getting in on Sunday as I'll be in LA and near Amoeba, the greatest record store EVER.
Who is the guest musician on the album? I remember reading it was someone from Tool.

No no, it's Adam Jones drumming on two tracks. I don't know which ones, I should download it and try to guess which ones I guess.

Yeah, it's Adam Jones. He plays additional guitar on "Hall of the Dead" and keyboards on "Wavering Radiant".
