So you're just wanting unusual time signatures?

Tool uses 9/8 sig on Jambi

7/4 time is cool, Pink Floyd uses it on Money

I, personally, like even divisions of time or something triplet feel based. Not too keen on those odd metered signatures expect here and there.

7/4 is one of my favorites.

If you really want to challenge yourself try something random like 25/16.

I wrote a serial riff in that time once. I was going to be two 12/16's, but I decided that three of the notes needed to be played together, and then the length of a crotchet, so an extra semiquaver was added on.

Really, it's not hard. Just make up a fraction. I find making the numerator a prime number helps because they don't subdivide (equally anyway) and then the denominator an index of 2 (as in most music). I recommend getting a tab programme (if you don't have one already) to help. Guitar Pro is the best. Just look to the bottom of the screen while filling out a bar to see if its complete or missing some or over-filled.
