Depends.............
Marshall have been around since my grandpa started wiping his ass;
Hughes And Kettner are always to innovational type of stuff...
Marshall they just like to be plain and simple, also depends on ur muscial tastes

they are both good amps, but if you're going to be buying one just go out and test them out.

Try the Crate Gx900h and maybe we'll you'll change your mind about getting Marshalls and Shit, but you know what? Most people actually buy Marshalls
to show them off during gigs and shit.......
Try the Crate Gx900h; it may not be like something where you rock your ice or bling bling! But its an Awesome Amp!

Try them out yourself and be fucking amazed
if you're into tube stuff, try the Triamp, it's fucking expensive but WELL worth it's money, another good top is the Zen Terra top.
I'm true bassist myself, I've got a Hughes and Kettner Bassbase 400 w tube, with cabs.
www.hughes-and-kettner.com
our guitarist uses H&K too, never had problems or anything, he like them better then marshalls and peaveys (peaveys don't really have deep lows compared to h&k)

H&K are decent.... for me it would depend mostly on prices and how much cash I had on hand...

Yeah, shit see I don't have THAT much money, but go to www.AmericanMusical.com and then look at that Marshall full stack that is $1,099.95 and tell me if it's a good one, it has a 100w head, and the same with the cabinets too I think if not then they are 120w, but can someone check that one out on the site and let me know if it would be a good amp, because that right there is the most money I can spend and it's actually more than I can afford but will try to save up for it.

it's not the best marshall, but it's nice to have a full stack, BUT
do you really need it?
a friend of mine has a H&K with one 4x12 cab and I think he can blow this thing away with easy. it's not all about speaker size and shit, you need a good amp to power them.
I'm not a marshall fan myself, but the TSL100 and DSL100 are good, I played them and they have a warm clean and a crunching distortion.
For 1000 dollar, it's hard to get a higher series H&K amp, the warp 7 is about 900 here, but it depends on your style if you like it.
The higher series are better (Zen Terra tops, Triamp..) but they're way more expensive.
