What the difference between both compagny, who build the pickup that dimebag used. I want to buy one L500XL but i dont from witch compagny. Some people say tha B.L. USA sound like crap.....If Any know....

I own 2. And I really dont have a clue from which company theyre from. I do know they both sound awesome. One looks a bit different from the other, so I guess I have both.

k. One is owned by Bill and Becky Lawrence, bill being the original designed. One is owned by another dude. Bill sold his company to his partner. Dimebag bought his pickups from sam ash - before Bill Lawrence decided to come out of the dark and start another company after seeing his old partner make so much money off of Dimebag.

So yeah, USA are the authentic ones.

But i think they both sound like crap. Very shrill and trebley for my tastes. But if you're after Dimebag's tone, they are perfect. They are what he used afterall hahaha.

I use purely XL500's in my guitars now as they sound immense, brilliant for rock and metal, they even clean up nicely. I've used both USA and B&B and I have to say that the Bill and Becky Lawrence pickups sound alot better to my ears, they cut through so well and take a lot of the qualities of your guitar. There not to expensive either, so there definetely worth buying
