I just came back from THE most violent gig ever. (Viggen, some other band, REZET!!!!, Hyades - boring, VIOLATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!, Tankard)

Me and our drummer went their thinking "Holy shit yeah time to mosh the shit out of the dumbass Belgian statue-crowd", but when we arrived, there were pits everywhere. Even at the bar when nothing was playing. And this was at 3 in the afternoon, during the first band!

So yeah 2 bands opened up, nothing too bad but don't remember shit from them.

THEN CAME REZET.

These were 4 young wolves, not much older than 18, maybe 16, all dressed up in denim and patches, 80's haircuts and the most old skool sneakers you'll ever see. And holy fuck did they kick ass.

It started out with no one knowing them, and ended up with everyone loving them. During the first song you could see everyone stare, all in a collective "what the fùck!?"-mood, and then just moshing in disbelief. They had such old skool riffs, such shred-tastic solo's, and the singer, dàmn! Reminded me a bit of Morbid Saint. Also, the crowd ended up massacred. Lots and lots of stagedivers, problem was: everytime they jumped a pit started. I ended up falling steeeeeeeeeeraight to the floor, back first, but I guess the adrenaline made for me not feeling a thing.

Oh, and during their Violent Force cover (Dead City!!) suddenly 40 people were on stage. And to think nobody knew these guys.
Everybody, and especially The Doctor and YOUR_GOD_IS_DEAD should check them out.

Then came Hyades. Boring. Some fast chugga chugga riffs, constant thrash-drums, ... I can imagine why most people loved them, but I bored my ass off. At least I had time to recover.

Then, VIOLATOR! I was already wondering how the crowd could react harder than they did on Rezet, but fuck me it was possible. If you were in front of the stage, it was IMPOSSIBLE to keep standing straight, and not fall to the ground. And if you wanted to stagedive you literally had to crawl over people to reach the stage (as every square foot was filled with 6 guys and 4564354 patches), only to end up diving into a pit.

Which happened to me. Landing straight onto some homo's steel-toe'd combat boot with the middle of my back. Holy shit did that hurt. I held out for 3 more songs (hey fuck me, I'm not whimping out during Brainwash Possession!) and then I just went to get some water. After the gig I thought it coùld be a smart thing to do to go to the first aid, cause my back was getting worse by the minute (couldn't do anything, talking hurt, walking hurt, headbanging hurt obviously, ...).

And first aid was located in the backstage!? Nice. Had a chance to tell Violator's bassplayer that I broke my back on their music (reply: "HAHAHAHHA THRAAAAAASH"). When the staff lifted up my shirt to check out my back, both of them yelled out "WHOAAA". Ever seen a pic of a kid that got abused by it's dad? Well, my back looked like that. Well, it looked like one of those kid's backs. Deep-red, spotted stripes all over, swollen like a motherfucker, ...

So yeah, still got to have a chat with Violator's guitar-player, and some Brazilian dude who played in Acid Speech who told about how and why Brazil is fucked up, and ended up giving their demo for free.

Which was nice.

hahaha i know, i never thought id really fire a gun either. it was a lot of fun. that particular .22 was my grandfather's, verrrry expensive bolt action. i fired my cousin's less expensive .22 which was semi-automatic and then my uncles .50 muzzle loader which was incredibly powerful. im actually interested in trying pistols out now, im thinking about buying a gun and checking out that gun club out by saratoga airport (kayaderosseras rod and gun or something)

The kayaderosseras gun club is where I got my first small game hunting liscense, it's a small place but a lot of people went there. It's right on geyser road like 3/4 a mile from the airport. I remember back in the day when someone used to walk out in the back yard and shoot up in the air. We've got 3 acres so it would just come down in the back yard somewhere.
I've shot 22 rifles and pistols. Both Rugers as a matter of fact. Also a friend's 9mm. We have other's, but I don't want to bruise my little self so I wouldn't shoot them. I think the most fun to watch someone shoot was when hubby had an Ithaca riot gun. I've seen more than one person lose their balance backwards popping that off and even my husband had a black and blue mark the size of a dinner plate on his shoulder the first time he shot it. He sold it for food right before Christmas one year. It was the same gun the cops use.
One of my favorite unfired in my lifetime is my grandfather's early 1900's Steven's favorite with the octagon barrel. It's just cool looking.
