id strongly advise to buy a neck as the intonation and frets etc is a right arse hole
for the body do with whatever isnt too expensive if itsonly your first axe, try stealin a solid oak door

apparently it does affect the tone, but not to a great extent, as long as its solid and not hollow else youll get a hideous ringin sound
my brother made a bass out of pine for an experiment, it sustains well and sounds good.. so... haha

buy a pre-made neck, then carve your own body, but make sure you sand realllllly well

I made a Kelly style body, get a Carvin neck, there the best. Don't use oak for
the body, it's to heavy & pourus. Get alder or basswood. Try a home improvment
store for the wood. The hardest part is getting the bridge right. You have to get it
exactly right. Get a book from the library to read up on it. I'd post a picture of
mine if I knew how.

I didn't know that pine would maKE A good neck, i thought that it would suck since its not really solid and all, but I guess im wrong. ( what a dumb ass I am lol)

Don't use pine, it is soft. You should usu maple or mahogany.

MR WEIJIA
I aint making my own pickups im just going to get them from another guitar
it would be to boring winding them
im only planning to make the body of the guitar out of the pennies
i thought about the guitar out of 2 penny idea a bit more any way and im not sure how i would fit the bridge the pickups and the neck if you have some ideas it would really help
p.s. what are the piles (i think they are something to do with the winds)

This is the guitar that I built. You could put them in resin because all those
pennys would way to much.

I made it in wood shop with a band-saw, & a belt sander. I made the two halves of
the body in 2 weeks. It took about 8 months to get it all together. I had to route
the place for the pickups & tremlo. The maple from neck smoked the bit. The body's
out of red wood. About 50 coats of paint. I scaned a picture of one out of musician's
friend & blew it up to size & printed it for the body. The thru neck is carvin.

I was talking about the dude that wanted a guitar made frome pennies.
Instead of gluing them all together he could put one layer in resin so you
could see them, & not be to heavy. But I did put some filler on mine.

You wold probaly have to make a mold, from clay mabey.
You can get resin at a crafts store. Wax would break.

I've got a neck off a Dinky Reverse if you want to by it. It needs keys and locking
nut & screws&plate. But you can have it for $25+shipping. It's not the best neck but
it will work.
