The coolest guitar solo ever!?
Ok i dont know if there has been an exact thread like this but tell me straight away if there has and i will delete it..anyway on with the topic..
What is coolest solo ever? I dont listen to that much metal, more funk than metal (yeah i know....dont ask) and the coolest solos i have heard would have to be:
Pantera - Walk
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Slayer - Mandatory suicide
Whats your opinions?

Here's afew that come to mind:
Cryptopsy : Cold Hate Warm Blood
Slayer : Angel Of Death, Die By The Sword (Live), Mind Control, DittoHead...
Death : Scavenger Of Human Sorrow, Painkiller (Cover Song)
Morbid Angel : Fall From Grace
Obituary : Cause of Death
Pantera: Psycho Holiday, Floods, The Great Southern Trendkill, Shedding Skin...
Carcass: Blind Bleeding The Blind (I think)
Metallica: Of Wolf and Man, Struggle Within, One, And Justice For All,
Creeping Death, Whiplash...
There was one solo I heard on the radio afew years ago which was kickass, but I didn't know what band it was. It was black metal if I remember correctly, not real gothic, the only lyrics I could make out were something like "we are enslaved to hate" or something. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
By the way, does anyone know of live recordings of Angel Of Death other than the Decade of Aggression version?

Erik Rutan's Solo on "God of the Forsaken" from Morbid Angel's latest album, Gateways to Annihilation. its just fucking insane how technical and melodic it is, especially the little harmony part at the end. Its a shame he left Morbid Angel, But Hate Eternal rips!!

sgt. d's top metal solos
absolutly without a doubt ONE is amoung the elete
the solo on jump in the fire (also metallica) at the end makes me want to light myself on fire.
check out megadeth hanger 18 Dave mustaine & Marty Friedman will not let you down.
Basiclly any metallica, megadeth, or slayer will provide you with an excellent example of metal guitar soloing at its finest.

I am really into more melodic soloing as opposed to shredding...but I do like shredding, so dont get me wrong here. Petrucci and Satriani offer a healthy dose of anything solo...whoever said Iron Maiden, well those guys, in my opinion..defined the art of trading leads (even more so than Judas Priest) Adrian Smith and Dave Murray were tight as hell and very smooth (most of the solos of Piece of Mind make the grade). Lets see, George Lynch...a metal guitar icon for the ages...Kiss of Death, awesome riff and solo. Eric Johnson and Cliffs of Dover I will definitley second. Good to see some people metioning Malmsteen...the guy was and is a prodigy...Black Star anyone? Pantera's Cemetary Gates, sends shivers. SRV's Voodoo Chile. Anyone listen to Halford? Live Insurrection...I dont know much about his guitarists...but that fuckin CD has revitalized heavy metal. Yes Im old school I guess...Im 34, cut my teeth on Dokken, Iron Maiden, Ratt, Judas Priest, Dream Theater, Rough Cutt, Rush.
Please be kind if I am not up on all the black deth Swedish Euro kill metal...Im trying.

Every guitar player should check out
Michael Angelo - Speed Kills
That is TOTALLY INSANE (especially when he plays chords that fast you can hardly see his hand moving - and he plays them reversed ; with fingers poining towards floor, hehe) !

Death - Forgotten Past
I liked the solo until Rick rozz or Frederick started to kill Schuldiner's
solo by adding those stupid noises.

You're weird, that solo sucks ass, when I listen to my
reign in blood cd and when that solo is about to start,
I skip the song. Sounds like my dad's sirens blowing off
when I'm getting him really mad.

I know its not very long and interesting. But i always seem to have Ozzys - No more tears. solo in my head. just the last part. I like it.
Also what springs to mind is Gunners - November Rain.
OH YES!!.....AC/DC - Let there be rock (has to be live) - ONE HANDED SOLOS = BEST EVER.

Some of my favorite solos? hmmm I'd have to go with:
Suffocation - Pierced From Within
Dying Fetus - Nothing Left to Pray For
Flight of the Bumble Bee
Hate Eternal - Dogma Condemned
and my number one favorite solo is the one from TESTICULAR MANSLAUGHTER by CATTLE DECAPITATION!! \m/ \m/ Those guys fuckin rule!
i know these arent the most technical of solos but they speak to me
